A little scrape !
« on: June 19, 2020, 09:13:20 pm »
Bonnie had to leave to go to Penny's house for her surprise trip before it was time to pick up the boys ( Greta had a runny nose so she stayed at home today )  So Greta stayed here with John and I went to school . The school does not have big carparks.... just small areas. OK if you have a mini car !!!!!!!!!!!  Anyway there were empty spots but most of the cars were not parked straight ! So that is my excuse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was nearly time for the boys to come out and they like to see Mummy waiting for them ! So I slowly pulled into a smallish space between two cars .... lots of cars coming down the road behind me too and and I slightly scraped the tail end of this blue car. I have a couple of scrapes on my passenger door too.  I was stuck out in the road and the car driver of the blue car got our of his car and started bellowing at me. I got out to see the damage ( cars behind me stuck on the road ) and it looked minor to me BUT  " I have just picked up this car from the Showroom, its brand new  ! " yelled the Arabian / Muslim /  Afghanistan or whatever man ! Oooops. I apologised and said I would just move my car to park further down. Which I did up on the curb ! The Arab man was on his phone to the police ... lucky for me a friend of Bonnie and Dan ... Chris was picking up his boy and he stood by me and so did another mum friend. This bloke demanded my licence but I had come  out without my bag because  I was late and I said I would get the boys then go home and get my bag and meet him at the police Station ! He was not having any of that and kept on about wanting a police car here now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was not standing for that so I walked up the path to the school with Chris and ? to get the boys. When the boys and me walked back down to my car ... along with Chris etc and their kids..... the bloke was still on the phone demanding a police car. I got the boys into the car and took off home. I told John what was happening and said I was off to the cop shop !
At the police station the bloke was there with his wife and 2 little girls. I apologised for the accident ... he had no insurance , but  it was my fault anyway and we exchanged names and addresses. Turns out they have just moved into one of the brand new houses just down the hill and round the corner from here ! New House, new car ????

I thought I was running out of space !
We left the police station on good terms with everybody !!!!!!!!!! Sort of !!!  When I got home John said Bonnie had rung my phone. Yes I forgot to take it with me !  So I rang Bonnie back and she said she had a phone call from the police asking if she was still in contact with Moira Casey and does she have a number for me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Of course Bonnie panicked and asked if there was any problem  but they told her no problem !~  All this between the time I brought the boys home and went back to the police station .. maybe 10  minutes !!!!!!!!  How did they know Bonnie knew me and how did they know my name even ?  I will tell you what I think... the bloke took a photo of me and my number plate at the school and I imagine he showed it to the cops and maybe they looked up the owner of the number plate .... the car is in my name as John was in Aus. when it came over here !!!! SO maybe somebody .. our next door police neighbours maybe .....knew Bonnie and her number .... !

Anyway I will claim on the insurance AGAIN !!!!!!!!!

Here I sit, just about ready to crash and burn for the day, trying my best to get through the posts before I collapse for the day.  You perked me right up Moira, I'm on the edge of my chair here and horrified by all of this.  I would have been in such a panic.  You must have had Greta in the car with you or did she stay home with John?  So you will have this claim on your insurance and surely they will raise your rates.
Was John upset with you?  I can see that Bonnie was worried when she got that phone all.  I am so glad that NOBODY was hurt, just a couple of cars so that is something to be very happy about.   Sorry you had to go through this Moira!!!    It's time for me to hit the sofa, I'll get my blanket, pillow and water and I'll be out of it most of the day.  I hope to get back later and see what Darien has been up to.  OH, I see that Greta had a runny nose and stayed home!

Oh my what a palaver over a small dingle. What a rude man he was to harass you like that and I am glad yo had some back up with you. Thankfully it has all worked out, these things do happen and as long as no one was hurt and your insurance will cover it, nothing has been lost ((((((((((Moira)))))))))))

I did make the story a bit longer for your entertainment Linda as I knew you might be feeling a bit off  today ;D I hope you managed to rest and recuperate today
It has all turned out OK and I got it sorted today with the Insurance company. It will cost me $400 excess again and I am sure the car Insurance costs will go up over the year ! Strangely enough the bloke who's car I bumped is and Indian........ I now know because of his name ... because the bloke I spoke to on the phone from the Insurance company was also Indian and when I said the car owners name he told me it was a common Indian name  !!!!!!!!!  Narinder Kumar Sethi !

Well, it didn't turn out too bad then and I'm so glad it didn't.  Did Jack and Cash realize what all had gone on, they must have seen some of the ranting and raving by the Indian guy.  That name really does sound Indian.

I was astounded that he bought a brand new car with no insurance!!!!!! I didn't think you could do that, unless he paid cash of course.Normally if you buy a brand new car with finance, the finance company won't ok the loan without insurance. Very odd.

Jack thought I was going to be taken to jail by the police !  Cash said "it might be Liam ( from next door )  in his police car and he will not take you to jail Grammy " !!!!!!!!!
That is what I thought also Darien about him having a new car and no insurance, ( I could have done a hit and run !!! ) and I think that is also what the policeman thought in the police station but as the scrape was my fault is was not really relevant.   The Indian man and his wife and 2 kids have just moved into a newly built house.... finished only last month so maybe he does have CASH or plenty of money !!!  His wife drove a big black SUV.

Hmm I never thought of them renting the house but it has just gone up and they were built to order ....  you buy the plot of land then get the house built.. so why would anyone do that then rent out the brand new house ????? ....  and to Indians ??????

It happens here all the time in new estates, investors snap them up and rent them out, usually companies.

So the boy's imaginations were running wild, poor Grammy being hauled off to jail!  Do you  think they were really worried or more fascinated by it all?  Here you could not get a loan for a vehicle without having insurance, that much I know.

I never thought about investors buying and building a new house then renting it out.  I suppose it does happen here too.

Jack may have been a bit worried that I might go to jail, for all he is cheeky and knows it all he is a bit of a worrier ! He never lets you out of his sight if you are out shopping with him and he always worries that Mummy will not be on time to pick them up from school and Bonnie is never late. .. me neither if I have to pick them up !

My kids were all pretty  much that way but I was rarely late so they didn't have to worry too much.
