I survived the day and night, I felt so awful, I laid on the sofa but I didn't really sleep, I just hurt all over.  I made myself drink the water I'm supposed to drink because I know it flushes crap out so I did that and I ate a little lunch and supper.  I slept good and long last night and now today I'm doing better.  We went to the cemetery awhile ago, it's Memorial weekend so we took flowers to Tim's grave.  Larry went to the cemetery where his family is buried yesterday afternoon.  I had thought I'd ride along but that didn't happen.  I hope to go along to Oelwein on Monday to the cemetery there but will see how I am.

I am glad you are feeling a little better now and had a good sleep. I suppose the pain all over is a side effect of the chemo, do you know?
I hope it gave you some comfort to visit your Tim

Yes, it's the chemo side effects.  They said fatigue is the number one side effect...............what I  had yesterday is not what I would call fatigue, this was E X H A U S T I O N and then some!  There was no way I could have done anything and if things were "normal" last night would have been the night Emma graduated.  I would not have been able to go.    I haven't had diarrhea except one time after this last infusion so that's different and good.
It's comforting to go to the cemetery, that seems weird but it is.  It's been 15 years now since he was home for a visit.  He left here on May 16, 2005.............it's a long time.

I do understand about your fatigue/exhaustion as that is a main side effect of Lupus as well. When I was bad with it, there were days when even lifting my head off the pillow was an effort and until you have suffered from it, it's so hard to explain the feeling. I worry about you Linda and I need for you to tell me how you are feeling, that way you aren't facing this by yourself ((((((((((((((((((((Linda))))))))))))))))))))

What will happen with Emma's graduation now?

I thought it was Memorial Weekend for you and I was thinking about Tim.  15 years is a long time

I do tell you how I am Darien and I'm telling you I don't feel so hot today.  I am here though so it's not as bad as Friday.   I'm so sorry you had such fatigue with Lupus and I'm glad you don't have it now, or do you sometimes.  I'm hungry but my stomach isn't right, it's crampy and I had some diarrhea today.  Moira, it's not a sleepy tired I'm complaining about, the kind where you just want to stay in bed and sleep, it's a bone weary painful tired and hard to explain.   A couple people who  have been through this are telling me that I need to do just ONE DAY AT A TIME and I know that's good advice.  That's good advice for anything really.
Emma's school will have a virtual graduation.  We just watched Matt's son Ian's virtual graduation in Phoenix the other night.  It's certainly not the same but it's something.  They don't even have a date yet for Emma's but I imagine it will be pretty soon.

Keep on telling us then Linda, don't feel that you are whingeing, you have a lot to whinge about The fatigue is deep inside you, like every part of your body is screaming to stay at rest, not necessarily sleep, but every thought or movement is a great effort, that's about right, isn't it Linda? I am hoping my thoughts and love will help you through all os this

No, a virtual graduation will not be the same, but none the less, it doesn't take away Emma's accomplishments

You describe that well Darien, that's about the size of it.   The parents at Emma's school are still hoping that they might hold a REAL graduation later in the summer but I'll bet that doesn't happen.  I think the virtual one will be what they have.

One day at a time, sweet Jesus
That's all I'm asking from You
Just give me the strength to do everyday..  what I have to do.
You have got me singing this song now Linda :)   Are you talking to some people who have been through this ? I am sure it will be a help to you.

Seeing as we don't do Graduation so much here I am sure Emma will get over the loss of a ceremony ! It will be a different memory for her ((((((((((Emma))))))))))

Thanks Moira, that's a great old hymn and it really applies to me these days.  I do talk to several people who are on or have been on chemo.  It helps because they kind of know the routine of it all.
All of these 2020 graduates will have a unique experience to tell their children and grandchildren one day.  Did I mention before that these kids were born during the 9/11 time, that horrible experience and now these same kids are graduating during another unusual time.  Of course the kids were too young to remember 9/11 but it seems strange that's the time period when they would all have been born.   Emma missed her track season, 3 months of school, prom, graduation, trip to Florida with the orchestra and the trip to Europe with Stephanie.  It's a bitter pill to swallow but one does learn through adversity.
