Oh I hate that too, Robert does that. Did you know it has a name, Misophonia or Selective Sound Sensitivity Syndrome? It's very common too.

Oh my gosh, even a fancy name for chewing with your mouth open.    I suppose there are worse things, but it probably doesn't impress Matt all that much.  I wonder if he will quit seeing her?

I remember reading about it once ages ago and I had to look it up again as I had forgotten what it was called.

My goodness I never knew there was a name for not liking loud chewing sounds.... or any strange sounds so I have just read !  I do know Matt does not like listening to people chew if they are loud, nor do I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It is not recognised as a mental disorder in the DSM-IV Hahahahaha  ::)
Linda the fancy name is for not liking to LISTEN to the noise of someone chewing loudly  :) I cannot bear to watch them either and I have noticed over the years how Asians tend to chew loudly and with their mouths open !
I had to look it up too Darien  :o

It seems strange that Aussies would be more likely to chew with their mouths open!

Kylie's birthday is the 13th July, so I ordered them in heaps of time and I am glad I did as it took one month to arrive with all the COVID business.

Moira said Asians Linda, not Aussies

Hahaha you beat me to it Darien.  I was wondering who said Aussies eat with their mouths open and chew loudly   ::)  :o

Asians do not know about polite table manners obviously.  It does seem to be common among all Asians too even my friend Mandy from Vietnam does it.... not as badly as some but it is still a common trait. I think it may be a cultural thing with some Asians. When they get together also they talk a lot with their mouths full of food. We were always taught not to talk with our mouths full ... as well as to chew quietly with our mouths closed !

I didn't know that.  I see a fair amount of Asians here but the only one I actually know is Emma's friend Alayna and she is adopted by an American family so the eating with the mouth open wouldn't apply to her.  They would have taught her differently.  I didn't know that Asians were rude and arrogant, I wonder why?

I don't know about them being rude and arrogant but of course it can happen. The few I know are lovely.   Horses for courses OR Different strokes for different folks :)
In Alayna's case she was brought up by Americans and in America. I wonder if she might notice it when and IF she gets to Cambodia.  Was she planning a trip to her home country... I suppose her trip is also off is it ?
