Alayna and her family were going to South Korea and no, they aren't going because of the pandemic.  I imagine they will go at some point but not this year. Alayna is so eager to go and see where she came from, unlike Emma who couldn't care less which seems strange to me but we are all different.  You  just told me that .....Horses for courses OR Different strokes for different folks.......and it is true.
It was Darien who said Asians are rude and arrogant and maybe she saw that when she was in China, did you Darien?

Trust me, the majority of Asians are very rude and arrogant.

Don't you wonder why that is?    Why do they think they are better than anyone else???

Sorry wrong country Alayna :(
I am sure she will get there one day when it is safer to travel ! I have never been to China or Japan or any of the Asian countries. I never had the inclination to visit them ! Annie has been to Japan and loved it !

It's okay, Alayna forgives  you, I did it for her!
Pam had a neighbor Chris and his wife, I forget her name but she was from Japan and part of the year she lived over there while Chris kept the house and worked here.  The wife's dad was very sickly and she felt she needed to be with him.  Last Fall Chris sold the house and moved to Japan, he had spent a lot of time there and he loves it and wanted to spend the rest of his life there.  He's an FB friend of Pam's and I was looking at his page the other day and he was telling about all the poisonous snakes around him...........YUCK.  That didn't sound good to me and something  you would never find in his yard in Waterloo.  Do you girls have snakes of any kind around where you live?

Asians have a tendency to do whatever they want to do, be it spitting in the street, pushing people out of the way, literally or physically, to get what they want. The Japanese are not quite as bad, but the Chinese and the Koreans are, especially the Chinese.
Speaking of the Chinese, Leesa, one of the Robert's contacts in China has been very ill. She had the COVID19 test done and it came back negative, so we don't know what is wrong. She is a lovely person.

Yes Linda, we have quite a lot of poisonous snakes around here, I have never seen on, thank goodness, but I know they are around. I never walk by the lake in the summer as there is too much bushland around

I thought you might have SNAKES Darien, HELP.............I'd never walk by the lake either in the summer.   Have you ever seen a snake in your yard?    I had no idea Asians were like that.  Maybe when Alayna and her family visit South Korea they will see that too.  Whenever Alayna has been upset with her parents through the years she has always said she wanted to back to South Korea.  Maybe she will see the people there are not the greatest.  I HAVE LEARNED!!
I'm sorry to hear about Leesa, that's awful.  She has little kids, doesn't she?  I hope it's nothing serious and do let us know when you hear anything about her.

NO, thank goodness I have never seen one while I have been out walking, but have seen a couple while driving around, they terrify me

Alayna will notice alright, the first this she will notice is not seeing a blue sky due to pollution, it's the same in China only they claim it's fog!!! Koreans spit all over the place too, disgusting

I think you are right about the Chinese especially Darien.
I suppose Chris is white American right ? I might have a wee look on Pam's FB one day :)
No we don't have poisonous snakes here in NZ Linda but Australia have the most venomous snakes in the worlds and NO thankfully I have never come across any except at a zoo !!!! ( Except for one time when we first got to Perth and Annie thought she heard a snake in the cupboard....and we called the snake man... remember that episode ? It was my work phone thingy !)
Just seen your post Darien and I remember a Chinese girl coming to work in Graylands saying the same thing.... how Lovely it was to see the sky in Perth !!!!! She did say they have such tall building all together and smog that you cannot see the sky.

On my last trip to China last October, I saw a little bit of blue sky once and I was so surprised.

I've always heard about the air quality in China being so terrible and now I see it is.  That would be HORRIBLE!
I didn't realize that Australia had all of those venomous snakes and I do remember now when Annie thought there was a snake in your cupboard.  OH MY, that would scare me to death.
