For sure, sunflowers are happy flowers and when you see a entire field of them you are happy too!

I got my plant from the garden area of Bunnings in Hawera. Not a very big Bunnings either.
Bunnings is a hard ware shop Linda  :)

You've talked about Bunnings many times and it appears to be like our Home Depot, etc..  We have several big stores like that and they all sell plants in season.

Well I was half planning to use the area that was the soil dug out when they placed this granny flat here but as you may see in my pics it is now full of weeds !  Today I bought some spray  weed killer to try and make a place for a garden BUT Methinks it will probably have to be BUILT UP / ready built gardens ...... like I had in Helensville. Easy to fill and take care of  !

Not exactly cheap but perhaps I can make my own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are coming into  your winter now, so can you start a garden now or will it be too cold?  Maybe John can help you build  your raised garden.

Are they the type you had in Helensville? I have used ones like this before, they are good to use, but you do have to bend down a long way. How much are they these days? I didn't see a price. It's a good time to get them ready for your spring veggies.

Yes they were like I had in Helensville and maybe nowadays I NEED them a bit higher up so I don't have to bend down so low !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOoooh me back
If I remember they cost me about NZ$69 each from Bunnings and I did have to put them together myself but it was not hard..... !

Yes, coming into Winter now Linda and it is WET at the moment and not very warm. I could plant seeds in pots but ..... I might have to wait till Spring !

Since I'm coming into warm weather I was sure you were going the other way but I also know it doesn't get REAL cold there or I don't think it does.
