Linda I mean the way a Kiwi pronounces words .. they tend to shorten them or cut them short and so Jack who is just learning to spell really .. writes them as he says them..... Plant they do not say the E.   I suppose we do say ' urth'  too in that case and that was a bad example ! Of course I cannot think of a suitable word now !!!
The Aussie accent is closer to the English as you had lots of English sent to Australia  and you do use similar words apart from the obvious Aussie ones .. Arvo, Barbie, chokka, etc but then I tend to use soem of those words too seeing as I Am an Aussie ....................... hahaha  and have lived there :)
Maybe if I had lived in USA for any length of time I might speak like Linda :0 Or maybe Linda might speak like me :0

So Jack does say plant for planet, that's what I thought you meant.  Actually, it's you who says chokka.  I don't think I've ever heard Darien use that word and she is for sure an Aussie.  I can't even think how you use chokka but I know you do and when you use it I know that I understand what you mean.  Language is very interesting

Moira often uses the colloquial term for things, I do so when I am in my world and out and about, but not as often as Moira does :)

Hahaha I am more Aussie than Darien :)
Yes Jack says plant and that is how he spells it ! He knows it is PLANET but that is just how Kiwis talk .. and Aussie actually, they skip vowels !
As for Chokka,  I am sure the English use that word too so I asked John and he said it was English !!! It means full or full up Linda :)
I noticed today in the paper or news report how the word BUNCH was used a few times. !!! WE do not say a Bunch of people ... more like a group of people but lately Bunch is  being used here often  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes it is American.  A Bunch of Bananas is fine or even a bunch of grapes ..... but a bunch of people ???

Oh yes, chokka, full up I remember now.   Does Jack have any trouble with spelling since he pronounces the words differently?  Of course not all words are spelled the way they sound anyway.
I've never seen or heard our papers or news people say a bunch of people, I'm surprised you saw that.  I suppose I could have said a bunch of people but I don't think I normally do.

It seems that journalists don't need an education anymore as well as no morals

Journalism has taken  a  dive around here for sure.   They don't report the news they make it up to be what they want.

They do the same here too. I think they should be made accountable for it too. In some cases they are, but not often enough!!!

Oh I second that too, reporters don't report the news as it should be.. unbiased !  I think it also depends on who owns the newspapers or TV stuff ! Somebody has to EDIT what we read surely ?  I don't believe half of what I read any more !
As a PS and seeing the title of this post is Sandie and Nathan.  I have to report that Nathan has been granted a special visa to enter NZ but he does have to be tested for the virus and also self isolate for 14 days............... probably with Sandie if his results are clear !  Good news. Sandie is happy :)
