A million thanks dear Darien and I love you too!!!

PS  Larry just came in with the mail and there was the birthday card from you and a day BEFORE my birthday!  Such a pretty card too!  I have my cards displayed on the kitchen counter, I have several now and will probably get more tomorrow.

OH THAT CAKE LOOKS GOOD!     I've had phone calls, texts, flowers and a visitor so far today.  Lil stopped by with a card.  She always delivers cards because she thinks stamps are too expensive.  Truth be told, gas costs a lot more than the stamps but it was nice to see her.  Two different florists came to my door, one big bouquet of flowers from Tom and Mary and an hour later a big bouquet from Pam and Emma.   My birthday is pretty easy to remember, once you know it, it's hard to forget.    You DO have April Fool's Day there I presume?  It's nothing that is commercialized or celebrated here, only a few tricks played here and there I suppose.

No,  one could NOT forget your birth date Linda because It IS April Fools Day and yes we do... well not exactly celebrate it but some people do so called funny tricks and joke things ! Pass.
So nice that you got all those lovely bouquets of flowers.  ((((((((((((((((((((((((((Linda))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I think flowers are so special because it's not something you have all the time.  I will try to keep mine as long as I can.

I have found the best way to keep flowers longer is to change the water often and each time you do, trim the bottom of the flower stem. I can keep flowers for nearly 2 weeks that way

I change the water every day in recent years and I keep my flowers about that long too.  I've never trimmed the stems but maybe I should try that too.

Yes spot on Darien :) You should trim the ends of the flower stalks and change the water every couple of  days :)

Try trimming the ends, you don't need to take a lot off, apparently when you trim the ends you open up the stem so it can get a drink, that's how a florist explained it to me

I received a beautiful bunch of flowers from Deb for my birthday and they didn't last half as long because we went away and I wasn't changing the water or trimming the ends

That's too bad.  I know a person has to take good care of the flowers and  you can't do that when you are away.
