Thank you Did you tell John I am the mad woman who asked for the photos?

Just taken a couple of photos of my flip flops and John says I Am a mad woman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will put them on FB.

If you take a photo of them I may be able to find what type they are. They aren't too heavy then?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 28, 2022, 08:40:35 pm
My flip flops are all so worn I cannot read any name !!!! I did buy them in a special Orthotic shoe shop in Perth, must have been 5 years ago but they are still good and wearable. About $28 a pair although I think the final pair I bought was $10 because the shop was closing down just before we left Perth ! !!!!

Post by: DarienJ on February 28, 2022, 09:46:17 am
I will only be replacing the ones I bought a few years ago, or adding to them in case they get wet and they won't dry or something I had a pair of orthotic thongs, but they were too heavy for me to wear!!!! What ones do you have Moira?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 27, 2022, 09:24:55 pm
I have learned to ignore all those mucky shoes in my lounge !!!!!!!!!!!! Why bother ? Unless we have anyone visiting !!!!
I do also have 3 pairs of flipflops.... orthotic ones :) They are mainly what I wear unless it is raining or snowing or I am digging the garden  !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes Buy more shoes Darien... you may need them

I have several pairs of shoes, good sandals, good walking trainers, thongs/flipflops, several types of them and some slip on shoes. I think I will need some new slip-ons and walking shoes for the trip though.
Robert has only about 4 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs are new ones.

I couldn't stand having all those shoes there and he would have to put them away!!!!!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 27, 2022, 04:14:14 am
It's a wonder you can walk with all those shoes everywhere.  A person does need more than one pair but there is a limit.  I have quite a few pair of shoes, different color flats, a couple pair of canvas shoes and a pair of athletic shoes.  I have a shoe holder thingy in my closet and they all fit in that.

Right now John has 3 pairs of trainers sitting by the sofa ..... inside  ... along with his slippers and he has another pair of trainers on his feet. After the rugby is finished tonight and he comes inside, he will take off his trainers and put on his slippers so tomorrow morning there will be 4 pairs of trainers by the sofa ! Outside the back door there are another 3/4 pairs full of mud ! Not counting the BOOTS .. or the spare trainers in the file cabinet drawer !!!!!!!!! Not forgetting Matt's 3 pairs also out the back.

YES I do have 3 pairs but I wear them all .. one pair for best, one pair for mud and muck  and one comfy pair for gardening

As for SHOES I think John has 1 pair for weddings and funerals ! I have a pair of posh sandals :)
Title: Re: More potential buyers

John sounds like Joe with shoes but Joe would have way more than 20 pair.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 26, 2022, 10:13:35 am
My goodness 20 pairs of trainers!!!!!!! What on earth does he want with all of them? Time to use the skip to your advantage
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 25, 2022, 10:22:25 pm
Yes Linda end of April as far as I know !

Dan has a skip bin at the end of his drive and I have stuff to fill it.... not mine but maybe John's ... 20 pairs of shoes/ trainers / boots in the metal filing cabinets / drawers out the back ... not forgetting the stuff in
the shed  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP ! NO rush...   RIGHT ?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 25, 2022, 10:23:10 am
It's good that you guys have already downsized so you don't have so much to move.  Maybe  you can sneak some of John's stuff into your trash can, little by little.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 25, 2022, 09:54:54 am
Is it April you move? If so, you have plenty of time to start packing.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 24, 2022, 10:42:23 pm
Not a fan of container living myself I must admit !!!

No, we have not even contemplated packing here yet !!!!! WE do not have THAT much stuff.......... we got rid of a lot of stuff when we  left Perth ! BUT John has accumulated  a lot of STUFF here !  I am NOT even thinking about IT.       Maybe next week !!!!!!!!!!!!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 24, 2022, 03:36:09 pm
I can't imagine converting one of those containers into a house but someone smarter than I am must be doing it.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 24, 2022, 09:18:48 am
Yes, those containers are quite popular for a Tiny Home and they can be used for swimming pools as well. I was watching (sort of anyway) a UK show called Grand Designs, a good show, and the guy building a house was using a shipping container for a pool. Half the price of a normal fibreglass or cement pool.

Has John started to pack up yet? Or will you do that and cull a lot of 'stuff''?

You can rent them here too Linda, for moving etc.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 23, 2022, 08:39:15 pm
We bought  our container in Perth because we did not have a house to put the furniture in when it arrived here, so it was parked in Dan's yard and is still there ! Some people turn their container into a tiny home ! No I do not intend living in a tin !
I quite like doing my own packing and always have done but this time I think lots of extra stuff will go in the container IF there is ANY room ( I Have not looked for ages as I cannot open the door !!!!) and for other stuff,  we will use a removalist !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 23, 2022, 11:13:04 am
We have containers like that here where people just use them when they move from one house to another, they just rent them and then return them.  I guess if you are shipping from one country to another you can't return them so you keep them.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 23, 2022, 09:05:58 am
They will have to hire a crane to place the container on the back of a truck, I assume that's how they had it delivered in the first place, by truck and crane. This is what they look like, Linda.

Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 22, 2022, 11:10:25 am
So the container is something you keep.  Seems like a good place to store things you don't often need.  So how does this container get moved to your new home?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 22, 2022, 09:19:21 am
Would it be terribly expensive to get a removalist in? That way you don't have to worry about packing etc as they would do it for you.

Dan will have to remove his stuff from your container, as I am sure he is aware of.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 21, 2022, 09:57:16 pm
Yes Linda, The container in Dan's yard was full of our stuff shipped from Perth  before we got this house set up here.  We have most of the stuff out in this Granny flat but there is / was some stuff left in the container as we had nowhere to put it ! Since then ... 4 years later .... Dan has used it for his spare stuff... camping gear tents etc etc and it is chokka !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT we will use it to move our beds etc big stuff  ! Dan has his own container now situated down in the Helensville Container Yard ! He regularly takes boxes of stuff down there now !!!!!! He is doing his packing !!!!!!
There WILL be enough room for MY stuff....... as for John's collection of STUFF ????? Pass !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 21, 2022, 10:40:44 am
That's odd Linda!! We bought a Sealy Bellevue Luxury mattress :)

Will there be enough room left in the container for all your household furniture etc?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 21, 2022, 09:40:55 am
Oh yes Darien, I had meant to comment about your cleaning person.  I hope she will suit you but you have very high standards so maybe she won't be QUITE up to par but hopefully "good enough"!
Let me see if I get what you are saying Moira.  There is a moving container in Dan's yard and I'm thinking you never unpacked it so there are things of yours still there.   Is that what you mean?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 20, 2022, 09:56:46 pm
Ys I too have Sealy and I got it from Harvey Norman in Perth !   IT was not cheap but so comfy that I had it shipped over here. I often lay in my bed and think:  ' Ahhhhhh this is so comfy'  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea which model mine is as it is now 6 years old but still the best bed ever :)

Good luck with your new cleaner Darien and I hope she can do whatever you need !

As for our moving etc.. the container in Dan's yard belongs to us BUT it is full of  ... stuff !  Apparently we / I need to go and see what is in there !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW what is in there ... apart for Dan's camping stuff..... John's Law books, John's I NEED stuff, old clothes etc. .... and maybe a box of my mementoes and Yar's Antique Cabinet :)
Title: Re: More potential buyers

We have a Sealy mattress.  Your link took me to a thousand things, which is your mattress?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 20, 2022, 09:45:50 am
I have a new cleaner starting Friday and I just hope this one is a good one and reliable. They come every fortnight to the house across the road and I finally caught them and asked if they could do my place. I so hope they are good. I struggle these days to strip and remake my bed as my hands hurt to lift the mattress to tuck the fitted sheet in and they change and make the beds as well, so I am doing something I never thought I would and allowing a stranger to make my bed for me.

Talking of beds and mattresses, I have bought a new one as mine has had it. While we were away in the Hunter, the mattress there was the best one I think I have ever laid in, so I asked them what type it was, it's an Australian brand called Sealy, so I went out and bought one, it will be here in 4 weeks

Yes, girls, my kitchen is clean too, I wouldn't work in a dirty kitchen, actually I COULDN'T!  My house isn't filthy dirty, I just don't obsess about cleaning I suppose you might say.  As I said "good enough" is my motto.
I know you mentioned April as a moving date and I'm sure at some point you will have a date for the moving company to pick up your things.  Will all the animals go along??
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 19, 2022, 08:51:28 pm
Yes it is a strange set up with the house buyer family ...  but I have ways and means of getting a good story !!!!!!! Hahahahhaha watch this space
No special moving date as yet. Mid  April - ish !
I am with you re cleaning nowadays Linda and it used to be my paid job in hotels once upon a time  ....  but because we live in a field I am fed up with the dust and garden stuff tramped in and dirty windows ..  so I now tend to shut my eyes until it all gets too bad !!!!!!! BUT MY Kitchen is ALWAYS clean and hygienic :)
I will get a  photo of the vine tomorrow Darien :)
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 19, 2022, 01:13:22 pm
It is a strange family set up for sure.  I don't suppose you will see any more of them before you move.  Do you have a moving date yet?
I've cleaned so long Darien and I know how quickly it  needs it AGAIN so I don't wear myself out.  Now that I'm OLD I do things less often than before too.  I keep everything neat, I hate a mess and clutter and I clean but nothing like you do I'm sure.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 19, 2022, 09:10:32 am
Very odd family set up and the problem with all that is, we will never find out why they are set up like they are as you won't be there

I will forgive you Linda, I wished I could be like that too, perhaps one of these days I will be

You will have to take a photo of the vine nowise I can see what it looks like.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 18, 2022, 08:41:17 pm
The house buyers do  sound like like an odd family set up !!! No wives .. there would be a bit of a squash IF there were wives !  Definitely just  the one son to live here with his daughter, he looked to be about maybe mid thirties and drove a Ute advertising Mechanics !  Mind you the Pom mother with her long blonde / gray hair looked only about in her mid 50s ! I did not see he husband except in the distance down at Dans. But the other son had 2 small boys !

I love Stratford on Avon too so interesting. S Moira and I worked in Stafford.... just north of Birmingham in the GPO college (My Mum got us the job as she also worked there for a time !~ )  while we were saving up to go to USA ! We visited Stratford a couple of times on our days off :) Lots of interesting historical places :)

I did not pull the whole vine down but it does look a bit tatty today with some gaps !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 18, 2022, 12:00:22 pm
It's unusual to have two single sons with children, can't think of anybody I know who has that situation.
Larry does everything BETTER than I do so whenever he does something he doesn't very well.  Sometimes he starts something but doesn't finish, that's rather typical.  I always finish what I start but it's not perfect, but "good enough".  I know that you clean and in no time it's dirty or messy again so I don't scrub my fingers to the bone so that's why I do it "good enough", but Moira, don't tell Darien.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 18, 2022, 10:16:40 am
Shakespeares home town, it's such a beautiful spot too. Do the sons have wives?

I am glad John sorted the gutters etc out, that's a job he won't have to do again, we hope!! Did you pull all the vine down? The verandah must look so different to you now.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 17, 2022, 08:54:40 pm
John did it today ...it was a bit cooler and he must have been bored as he also water blasted the roof and cleaned the gutters which were full of pine tree debris from the storm BUT they had not been done for ages !!! What a mess he made also and had to water blast the back of the house and windows as the buyers were coming and it was disgusting !!!! He also HALF did the hanging climber so I ended up pulling the vines off !!!!!!

All men put things off but then I do too if I Am not in the mood and I always think that I will eventually get the job done BUT I will KNOW when it is time to do it as I will get the ' feeling... do it today ' !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The woman buyer is a Pom originally from Stratford on Avon UK and along with her husband and their 2 adult sons. One son has a daughter 13 and they will live up here and the other son has 2 young boys 7 & 11 ( says Cash) and they will live in Dan's house along with Gran and Grandpa !!!!!!~ A strange combination I think but I don't know their story !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 17, 2022, 09:49:36 am
I know, I hate to bug Larry about stuff but Larry does tend to put things off more than I do anyway.  Not that I'm all that great about it.  There are so many things I could have done today that have not been done but then we all know that "a woman's work is never done".
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 17, 2022, 08:32:38 am
I can't remember if we did that, it's been 32 years since we bought this place!!!

Why is it men say they are going to do something and we have to wait forever for it to be done and if we happen to mention it once or twice, after waiting months, we are nagging them!!!!?? Hopefully John will get it done today for you.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 16, 2022, 09:15:15 pm
Hahaha Linda I thought you meant the big mossie flew in and bit me and flew out the window leaving a kcarc ~!    Yes John said he would cut the vines on the ladder  today ............. waiting waiting !!!!!
New buyers .. once the sale has gone through ... are allowed by law to come visit once again to measure or whatever !  Usually they come just before everything is signed off to make sure there are no changes or damage done during the sale closing time   ...   but this couple want to come tomorrow ..... and the sale is not complete till April 10 ? or close !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 16, 2022, 10:36:37 am
Perhaps Matt will do it for you, I hope so as I don't like the thought of you on a ladder!!!!

I wonder why the people are coming back to see the place again? Perhaps they need to measure some things out?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 16, 2022, 05:59:47 am
I didn't think the mossie broke the glass.  You mentioned yor had a bite on your ear so I was guessing the mossie flew in and bit you but probably it was when you were outside.  Could Matt and John help you tidy up the garden?
I'm so glad your property SOLD, that is so great.  You can now move forward and not have it all so iffy!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 15, 2022, 09:36:37 pm
Hahahaha Linda hilarious but it was bigger than a mossie to make the big kcarc in the glass and it will cost over $200 to replace it... thank goodness we have insurance and it will cost us nothing !  I spent ages waiting on the phone to AMI Ins. Then got annoyed and used Messenger and bollocked them !!! I GOT a reply and a phone call !!!!!! All sorted !

I have not managed to cut all the vine back just the long bits dangling over that I could reach BUT I will have to get the ladder out tomorrow and do a better job.  Or maybe get Matt to do it ....Or John ?  It got too hot today and I ended up sweating cobs so I gave up. came inside and put on the air con !   The couple who have bought this property want to come and have another look on Thursday at 6pm but we do not have to leave.  But I will have to tidy up the garden a bit more ! I plan to do it in the evening when it is cooler BUT by then after cooking dinner I cannot be bothered !

John got my wheel barrow back this arvo too !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 15, 2022, 12:22:06 pm
Sounds like a lot of heat and WEATHER, you girls still have summer and we still have winter.  I suppose a mossie flew in your bedroom window and bit your ear.   (((((((((Moira)))))))))
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 15, 2022, 09:13:59 am
I should have guessed what the word was!!!

Sounds like you had a lot of cleaning up to do. How do you reach the vine to cut it back? Sounds like my place, you go to find something for the garden and you find out someone has 'borrowed' it!!! Most of the times these 'borrowed' items never do return to the owner
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 14, 2022, 09:21:55 pm
Hahahaha the word was ..dekcarc !!!!! I forgot they had censored that word before !!!!!

So much calmer today after the cyclone passed and we had a big sweep of all the pine tree debris on the deck etc. Then it got hot again and a bit humid so I will clip back the straggling creeper that was growing up and over the verandah roof and it all got blown back down off the roof to the front of the verandah and looks awful ! .....  BUT MY wheel barrow is full of old straw from the puppies down at Dan's so I don't even have a wheel barrow for my off cuts !
OK ramble over !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 14, 2022, 09:16:15 am
I don't really know what happened to your bedroom window as they censored the word!!!! NZ copped the tail end of a cyclone that travelled down from the north, I saw it on our weather!!! Thankfully insurance will cover the window and handy to know someone who will replace it for you. It sounds awful and I hate the wind and all the noise, I'm glad it seems to be over for you
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 13, 2022, 09:30:38 pm
I did nothing today either as it was wild and windy with less humidity but hard rain showers ! NOT Humid thank goodness and NOT even too warm for a change :)  Phew I say BUT it was a wild night and we ended up with my clothes airer almost over the end of the veranda complete with Johns jeans and some other heavy clothes ....plus today ....no idea how or when... our bedroom window **** !!!!! I have a photo and luckily we are insurance covered and no excess for glass and Bonnie's mate's husband does glass/windows !   John has put cellotape over the crack till tomorrow... Monday  ! Still we have had loads of pine tree bits flying round and hitting the windows and the deck and it has been so loud too.

I think it is over now as it seems to have calmed down over this last hour or so but so much damage has been done locally and further North and into Auckland !  THIS is summer and right now 9:30pm it is cold and I have my jumper on  !!!!!!!!!!!!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 13, 2022, 09:24:25 am
The only way to escape the humidity is by putting the air con on. Yesterday wasn't too bad here, I only had the fan on, we will see what today brings. I am not doing anything much at all today, I will listen to my Audible as I am so very tired.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 12, 2022, 09:05:56 pm
Yes this is what we have too and I don't know any other type !!!!!! It is the same as what we had in Perth.... a first for us with any kind of air con.  Never ever needed it before ! Somehow tonight I have a mossie bite on my right ear !!!! It is driving me nuts as was the one on the soft inside of my arm last night ....all night !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today was as bad as ever humidity wise and the air con was on most of the day and is on again this evening but it is blowing a gale outside and cooling down !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 12, 2022, 09:18:05 am
No my air con is what is called a split air con, it heats as well as cools and it's on the wall. The weather was very hot while we were away, but no humidity, so at least we could breathe and manage it. Thankfully the pool had shelter so you needn't be in the sun.

OIC.......I'm sure you are an expert at keeping mossies at bay!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 10, 2022, 09:13:03 pm
When we have the light on INSIDE in the evening, the main glass door is always closed so no mossies ! I have the bedroom lamp on when I go to bed so I can read and the window is wide open but I have the nets and the main curtains closed ! I still THINK some fresh air can get through and not mossies !
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 10, 2022, 10:02:17 am
If you had a light on inside the mossies would come in but don't you always have a light on when you guys are up at night?
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 09, 2022, 09:05:20 pm
I do have a net curtain up against the bedroom window and the mossies can not get though it, thank goodness as I do need that air in the  bedroom at night ! The mossies do get in because we often have the glass door open ! It is closed at night IF I have the light on inside !  WE do still get mossies but I have not been bitten for a while as I am staying inside in the humidity !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on February 09, 2022, 05:54:02 am
When I read about your window being open WIDE it makes me think about the mossie problem.  You haven't mentioned that recently so I hope  you don't have so many bites.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 08, 2022, 08:52:35 pm
We don't have ceiling fans here but Matt has his desk fan on most of the night !!!! HE pays the electric bills !   We did have them in Perth in the bedrooms and they were great. I had forgotten about them ! I just have our bedroom window open wide and it does open up onto the sheltered verandah plus I have the door open a bit too. I do not have the air con on at night !!  I don't sleep too well anyway and kick the light weight duvet off !  !

No rain here today but the forecast is Equator like weather and high humidity for the next few days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darien I hope you are cooler where you are staying..... enjoy, relax and photos please :)

There has been a lot of flooding here as well, further north of here though, we have been ok, just the usual small flooded areas that happen whenever there is a lot of rain. The nights have been horrible and it makes for a dreadful nights rest. The air con is too cool to have on at night, but it's very humid without it, thank goodness I have ceiling fans!!!

Same, same  here Darien and some parts of NZ are under water ! The South Island especially have had people evacuated along the West Coast. Today it is in Taranaki ... to where we might move !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Flooded out !
I read that Taranaki have had more rain in 4 HOURS yesterday in summer than they have had in the month of July ... our winter !!!! Yes, it must be Global Warming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job we live in a hill here !  Safe so far.   But we did have rain all night last night ... it kept me awake rattling on the verandah roof and gurgling down the drain pipes .. which DO need a MAN to clear them out... one day  !!!!!!!!
As for the humidity, it has been horrible here and not especially HOT.... just humid ..... especially over night too ! !

We have had a lot of rain and usually this time of year it all looks brown and dried up, but everywhere is so lovely and green. The humidity is awful though. Have you had a lot of snow?

Puppies teeth nip when they play, so Greta will no doubt be bitten a few times regardless of what she does They certainly love playing with Matt and I am sure he enjoys every minute of it.

Help I know nothing of puppy teeth  but I am sure in Greta's case .. once bitten, twice shy  She is not silly.. Loud yes, noisy yes, yappy yes but not daft !
It is now just after 9PM and the kids have been up here playing ghosts with Matt  !  The boys ran down home when Dan shouted them and they left Greta up here in the dark !!! ... So I had to drive her down home safely !~
Jack and Greta are both interested in art... more so than Cash as yet :)

Greta will enjoy that and of course she would love helping mum with the pups. I wonder how she will like it when they start nipping her as puppy teeth are so sharp

Maybe Greta will inherit the family "art gene".  She will love having the new things.

Hahaha that is a good answer Darien,  I will try that tomorrow ! She seems to be happy helping Bonnie with the pups as we can hear her from up here !

I got her a new ' Nunicorn ' book to colour in today and some new felt tips as our old ones are worn out !! She is getting good at keeping in the lines colouring in :)

It would be boring for Greta after having the boys around all the time to play with. At least she knows what you are going to say Surprise her and tell her to go and count all the blades of grass in the paddock area

Oh how funny, Greta must have an answer for everything.   It's too bad she doesn't have any neighbor kids to play with.  She's used to having the boys around so this would be different for her.  I can see why Bonnie didn't sign her up for school since you might not have been there.

The kids were in school on and off last year but more more OFF than On ! It has been months since they were in school here and then they had the Christmas holidays which is the long summer break here so they are off for 6 weeks anyway ! Jack does not mind school as such but he hates wearing a mask ! Cash just goes with the flow !!!
Greta is not in Montessori because Bonnie did not re-list her this year ( She thought we would be moving and you have to pay the fees up front and do not get a refund IF your child does not attend ! ) and there are no places left now !  She stays at home or up here and is constantly saying,  "I am bored " !!!!  MY reply is always  "Oh I am sorry about that,  perhaps you can draw me a picture or something ? " Yesterday she said she was bored and before I could answer .... she said .... "And do not tell me you are sorry about that " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our schools have been open for months, maybe a year, it's been a long time but still we do have COVID!
My kids were the same Darien, the boys weren't thrilled with school!

Our schools are finally back at school too, most of them have had far too long off due to COVID, lockdowns etc. Jack doesn't seem too impressed to be back at school. I know when I used to pick mine up from school, it was usually Christene that told me all about school, the boys not so much.

So in general does Cash like school better than Jack?  How long had the boys been off?

Yes Matt does talk to John especially when they are sitting outside on the deck with a beer and a cigarette !

Good luck with your Teaching Course Liam and I think he will make a good teacher !    The boys went back to school here today.... Jack said it was boring as they had to wear masks and Cash said it was OK !           End of story !

You have a variety of personalities too I see Darien!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: DarienJ on February 02, 2022, 09:18:35 am
Liam was the one with his thinking and computer, still is and he should be starting his Teaching Course about now. All the kids are different with their own personalities, Emma was the loud busy one, Christene the reader and nurturer and Alex....well what can I say about Alex except trouble really

Does Matt talk to John?

Post by: Linda on February 02, 2022, 05:51:14 am
YES to the question about Emma is a good start and if she were to be the ONE, then you would also have an EMMA!    I see about the 3 grandchildren and how they are unique in their own way.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on February 01, 2022, 09:36:18 pm
Yes Darien I can see the similarity with Cash and Justin !!!! Cash loves all things mechanical and anything involving work ! Jack is more ' in his head ' , more of a thinker.....thinking of things then he investigates them on this computer !!!!!!!!!!!!! Greta ???  She is another Anneliese. Loud, talks all day, runs everywhere and sings.. she never stops !!!

Matt has been very quiet about his visit. NOT that he is ever very chatty about girls...... I have not asked any questions  except, " was it worth the long drive and was it nice meeting up with Emma "  ?  ' YES ~'  he said !

Having our loved ones home safe and sound is always the best news, we all agree on that for sure.
So generally speaking, is Cash and easier child than Jack and how does he compare to Greta?  I'm sure they are all similar in ways and very different too.  Jack must have liked the house, to him it must have seemed like a mansion and it does look very nice.
So what did Matt have to say about the visit with Emma?

Cash reminds me of Justin as a child, he was a very whingeing toddler, but when he out grew that, he was became an easy to please child and he too loved trucks and things. He loves his job as a garbage collector and he gets to drive the real big truck now, bless him

I am glad everyone arrived home safely, I know that feeling of relief when everyone is home safe and sound

2 kids were easier than three and Cash is super cool and easy to please and so helpful...... he can even cope with Greta !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The boys both went along on the last trip to see the Brunswick House  ...  but Cash was not impressed with the long drive.   Jack does not like to be far from Mummy and Daddy !

They got back about 8:30PM tonight due to traffic on this Holiday weekend ... Jack got out of the car in the drive here and did a pee over the grass..... he was desperate ! SO was Bonnie apparently as they could not stop en-route because of the horrible traffic !!!!
The House is like a Mansion according to Jack and the swimming pool is awesome !

Matt was away down South also to visit his old school friend Emma.   He left here Saturday and arrived back here this morning 09.00 am. (Monday) after driving back almost over night !!!!!!!!!!!! IN a way it was probably a good idea because of the traffic that Dan etc came upon later today  BUT BUT .. anyway they are ALL back safely :)

It all sounds good and hope it works out so you can get this property.   Jack must have wanted to go along and it was nice he got to go and see where he may be living.  Two kids would be easier than three!

I am assuming their offer was accepted :) I so hope this one comes through for you and you sell your current one ASAP. If all goes through, Matt will have a place of his own! What an excellent choice.

If Cash and Greta are in Matt's bed, where will Matt sleep? Down at Dan's?

Title: Re: More potential buyers

Correct Darien... 2 groups interested in this property here :)  THis new property in Waverley is a bit closer to where Dan needs to work.... and we used to go to Waverley Beach when we lived in MArton !~!!! Anyway they rang here to say they have offered the asking price as the house is super and we can live in the studio temporarily and Matt also if need be and there is the perfect flat spot for a granny flat.  And of course this is s much cheaper than the other one :) :) :)

Jack did not want to stay without Mum and Dad and he wanted to see the house ,... he loves it ......... so he went with them and it is so much easier with just  the young ones !!!!!!!!!!!!  Right now they are in Matt's bed with their teddies and soft toys and books. It is almost 9pm but they are still awake and talking !!!! Hopefully they will not get up too early in the morning ! I have been up since 07:30 AM this morning .... early for me and NO nana nap. I am ready for my bed now also !!!!!
Yes Perry's dog is the Boarder Collie !

My goodness, poor (((((Perry))))) and naughty Mac!!!! I hope he recovers quickly, Mac is a Border Collie, isn't he?

I think Moira means that the two people interested are interested in Moira's property, not the one they are currently looking at. Is this new property very far from Dan's business? I wish them good luck and you too being left with the kids, pups and everything else!!!!
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Linda on January 30, 2022, 06:33:52 am
((((((((((((((((((((Perry))))))))))))))))))))  That's awful, what a freak accident that was.   So you will be babysitting while Dan and Bonnie look at the property.  Will you go to their house and spend the night with the kids?  If you do get this property would there be room for Matt too?  I guess if there are two more people wanting to buy it then it's rather "iffy" that you would get it, unless the other people make too low an offer.  I mean you might not get it because your property hasn't sold.
Title: Re: More potential buyers
Post by: Moira on January 29, 2022, 09:54:22 pm
There are 2 groups wanting to buy this property BUT it all depends on their finance !  The contract on the house in Brunswick had run out on 18th Jan. and the seller has another place to buy and needs a buyer so Dan let it go. I am pleased also as there will be no need to rent in Wanganui while they build a granny flat for us ! WE can live in the Studio in this place.
SO tomorrow Dan and Bonnie are driving down to Waverley to check out the property. Leaving at 8am ish, staying overnight  ..and what about the kids you ask as I did....... ????????????????? Oh they can stay here with YOU  !

Perry has a broken nose, broken arm and scarred leg because their dog Mac. dragged him along after another dog in the park yesterday ! Perry went face first onto the concrete and is not happy. So Penny cannot look after the kids overnight ! OK fair enough I said.

This is so nice, I love it and I can see why Bonnie feels better and I just wish you didn't have to deal with selling your present place, that's the problem.  It WILL sell, if only I could tell you WHEN!!!

Has the other property fallen through then? Did they have to find someone else? I do like this one much better, lovely and light and very neat, quite large too. Has it the same amount of land as the where you are now?
I hope the sale of your current place goes through soon.

She says we can live temporarily in the Studio and get our own granny flat built and not have to rent !!!!!!WHEW  I SAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank the Lord !  Less or very minor mortgage for Dan too !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this all happens as Bonnie is looking so much better ... happier today ..... talking about this property now !
BUT we still have to sell this place !

No I don't want them, although I have plenty of room for them, I was just curious as to why you would need to sell them.

Only because it will be so much hassle moving them... along with the pigs, sheep, dogs and pups !!! If nobody wants the chooks then they will come too of course :) WHy ? Do you want them ????????????????

This sounds more promising. You could always sell the puppies with the property

It's early and I don't have time to read and post but I saw this new post so I read it.  You will no likely for sure sell a puppy and you might sell the property too.  At least you do keep having people look and that's great!  Did they say which puppy they like best and is it Greta's favorite one?

Another couple came to view the property this afternoon and RE Jane said we could stay... outside   .... Dan etc had already gone for a drive .... so we got to meet the middle age couple and they have sold their home in Kumeu and need a house plus a Granny flat for her Mum.  She liked the property but the husband was unsure according to Jane  ... watch this space.... BUT the husband  loved the Puppies ........and wanted to take photos so he could show his son who is looking for one !!!!!
Cannot sell a house but might sell a Puppy  !!!!!!
