I have complete confidence in Robert's driving, I also get bored being a passenger and that's what makes me doze off. If Robert is tired, he too will doze off when I am driving.

I try NOT to fall asleep when Larry is driving but sometimes, I come close. I also would feel guilty because Larry often SEEMS sleepy, and I know he would like to sleep and he can't sleep when he is driving.

YOU manage to fall asleep when Robert is driving Darien ???????????????????????????? WOW !!!!!!!! I don't fall asleep when anyone is driving !!!!!!!!!!!
A week away will be lovely for you and hopefully Lynn will be able to welcome you :)

A week away will be nice. That's how long we were gone when visiting Tom and Mary and Joe and Susie. You and Robert have your driving all figured out and that's great.

Robert enjoys driving, always has, but on long trips we share the driving. When Robert is driving I doze off and he does when when I am driving, so it works out well for both of us. I don't mind driving either and the Volvo is such a lovely car to drive. We plan to go about the end of June, beginning of July and will be away for about a week as we are taking our time.

I know Deb and Darien plan to drive so Robert can have a break when they go on their trip. So I guess Robert does let Darien drive now and then.
I know you don't like John's driving, we've known that for many years now.

I do all the driving when we travel anywhere because I do not like John's driving !!!!!!!!!!!!!! He does not seem to suffer from sitting as a passenger except for his stress levels ..... his own fault because he has to tell me how to drive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG Poor Lynn, that sounds awful and you do read that it happens quite a lot nowadays ! ((((((((((((((((Lynn)))))))))))))))))) DID I read about this one in the paper or on the news ???? I hope they find the mad driver who did this !
Apart from poor Lynn, it might be a nice drive. Does Robert ever let you do some of the driving o long trips ?

Lynn would be happy to see you, what a terrible thing to have happen. To think someone would just leave her there is almost more than one can imagine. It would be good to go and NOT drive the ten hours in one day. I am lucky I don't get pain from riding and we don't often go on a long trip, hardly EVER. It's only two hours to see Joe and Susie and that doesn't bother me. When are you leaving to go and see her?

It was the same when Robert and I went to Canberra, a 5 hour run. Robert had cramps in his legs as well and I was just sore all over, long trips are harder to do these days and Robert wants to drive down to Ballarat in Victoria, about a 10 hour drive, to see his cousin Lynn as she was hit by a car whilst cycling and left on the side of the road!!!!! She received multiple fractures to her body
Thankfully she is recovering well, but it will be a long recovery. That trip will take us a few days as we won't drive straight through, but take a day or two.
You are lucky Linda, not to suffer from long drives.

((((((((((((((((((((Moira)))))))))))))))))))) We just had the 6 hour trip to and from Topeka recently so I know how long it is. We stopped for lunch and the LOO as well. Do you think the backache and leg cramp was from the trip? I don't normally have any physical problems with long car rides but they are often quite boring.

The drive took 6 hours in all but we did stop a couple of times .. once for lunch and once for a Loo stop :) I did suffer from leg cramp in the night Friday night and a bit last night too ! But my back was fine today :)

It was a long drive for you and the older we get we have trouble with long car rides.

I did not know that either but then I never even thought about it ! I took 2 normal Panadol today as I had a sore neck from yesterday's drive ... better already !

That's what I thought, but I thought maybe I'd been out of the loop all these years. Well, it's good you can take it Darien, I'm glad it doesn't make you sick.

I didn't think it was, but I just looked it up and it is an opiate!!!! Well obviously not all opiates make me ill then!!!

No not really, just Panadeine Forte, they have 30mgs of codeine in them and that's the strongest part. I do not take any opiates for pain and never will as they make me ill.

OIC We get 5 repeats on most scripts, so our scripts last 6 months. My pain meds only last for 3 months and I need to see the Dr for renewal of them ones.

Our scripts last for 3 months but IF there is no change I could renew mine on line :) Anyway before leaving Helensville I got 3 months worth all at one time. Normally we only get 1 month at a time and have to go back to the chemist for another month, then again for the 3rd month then we can either go visit the GP or renew on line for the next 3 months.

You haven't been to the Drs for 7 months?? How long do your scripts last for?

You are most probably correct but thank goodness it has been ........... many months since I was at the GP and thinking about it... the last time was Oct ? for prescriptions and stuff and there were NO magazines !!!!

Oh no, my Dr doesn't have them anymore due to covid and I am sure yours don't anymore either.

That seems to be the normal thing to do nowadays but of course I don't have that WIFI and stuff on my phone !!!!!!!!!! I read the tatty magazines if I go to the doctors !!!

When I am waiting at the Drs I will pass the time by either looking on FB or playing Solitaire on my phone.

I do often take my phone with me shopping just in case as you say !!!

My phone is in my handbag when I am out, I never go out without it incase I need it. Thank goodness I do take it with me as twice, when I fell over and both my ankles, I could call for help. When I am at home it stays on the little table in between both mine and Robert's chair. If I am listening to my book and I need to be outside putting washing on the line, it is in my pocket as it stops working at a certain distance and the clothes line is just out of reach.

I find having FB and messenger on my phone convenient for when I am away and don't want to take my laptop or iPad, mind you I have fb on both of them as well. I don't walk around with my phone stuck up my nose either

Bwahahaha I can use my Desk Top Computer for Messenger ONLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Laptop is packed away as I only use it IF I am leaving home on holiday or whatever ! Phone ????????????????? No WIFI ! Phone calls only
Call me old fashioned but I do not go around with my phone stuck up my nose all day !
I see people around here walking..... along the shore line path and most of them have a phone in their hands or up against their ears !

I don't know why you weren't told. I can use my phone, laptop and iPad for messenger and also for Face Time calls done through my phone, same as text messages come up on my laptop and iPad, handy if your phone is not close by
Now you know, will you use it? I bet you won't

TO be honest I don't want to be chatting in person to all and sundry when ever they call as I do not have it on my phone just the computer. But Annie, John and Matt often chat on Matt's phone and I did not realise it would work on this computer for me !!!!! I would chat on Matt's phone to Annie but it was little and not a good view so WHY did nobody tell me to click on this computer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Messenger is part of FB, but also seperate from FB as well, hard to explain really. Anyway, you can video call anyone on your FB contacts from Messenger, when you open up a contact or group on Messenger, at the top you will see a picture of a video, just click on that and you are face timing that person and it costs nothing. We have a family messenger forum as well.

AH yes Darien that does sound familiar when you talked about calling Kim etc in UK but it was all a bit above my head !!!!!!!!!!! I never even knew I had a camera on this new computer anyway !!!!! Did I read the instructions when Matt bought it for me ???????????????? Pass ! I THINK Messenger IS on FB or at least I see it on FB but NOT by talking in person with a camera..... just posts and my Messenger posts are Private and not everyone can see them like on normal FB ! WE have ' Mutants ' Messenger which is all the Casey's and Bonnie's family but it is just chat as far as I Know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have told you before that you can use messenger to audio call or video call. That's how I chat with Kim, Jodie and Ross and it's free!!!! I am sure I have mentioned before that I can usually only see the top of Kim's head as she doesn't hold her phone properly.

You know ME, I know next to nothing about computers but YES, we do Zoom but your Messenger thing must be the same. Is it on Facebook or something else? I don't know how to set up a Zoom call, Tom always does that. It must have been so nice to see Annie and the house.

WHY did nobody tell me that I could do Messenger on this computer and SEE Annie if I put up the camera thing on top of the computer ?????? And she can see me ! ?????? Annie rang John on his Phone and the phone ran out of battery when I was chatting to her ...... SO Matt got UP off the sofa after hearing me complain .............. and came in here to show me how to call Annie on Messenger on MY computer .. and I could see her and she could see me ! She was showing me around Matt's Perth house and how she and Richie were doing it up ! It looked good.
Call me old but really I cannot believe how I have not done this before !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you Linda, do talk about chatting to Tom etc on Zoom but this is not Zoom....... IS IT ??????????????????
