Yes I believe you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I am sort of resting it 😉
-
Somehow I can't imagine Darien clapping her hands for service but it is a good idea.

Cahill........Irish........green......
Now you will never forget.
-
Stop walking about Darien. Sit on your bum and clap your hands for attention, food and service
Do you think that might help you ?????????
Oh yes of course.... Cahill = Irish = Green ! I WILL remember now !
-
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Your poor foot!
You can remember our heart colors this way...........My name was Cahill which is Irish and green is an Irish color, so will that help you??
-
It was very sore yesterday afternoon, but that's because I hurt it again when I stepped backwards the wrong way in the boot and I felt the broken bone hit the boot....ouch!!!!! It's a bit sore today, but not too bad.
-
Bugger I meant LG / DB !!!!! Linda Green / Darien Blue :)
Wow 6 weeks, well I hope the boot will be off in time for your Christmas holiday ! Is it still painful ? ((((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))))))))
-
What is "BG / DB"?
I went to the fracture clinic and was in and out in about 20 mins!!!! I have to stay in the boot for 6 weeks and go back on the 14th December for a check on it, with another x-ray before I go back. I was told it will take a fair bit of time to heal due to my osteoporosis. Pretty much what I was expecting. At least I don't have to wear it to bed and I can have a normal shower.
-
OK BG / DB :)
Did you go to the fracture clinic today ? (((((((((((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
-
Of course the fracture hasn't healed, it's only been a week, but I live in hope.

I am the blue heart, Linda is green.
-
Hmm well the fracture has obviously not healed yet if the Technician could still see it ... too soon too soon !! I suppose he is NOT Allowed to speculate or comment anyway !(((((((((((Darien)))))))) Keep hobbling along

PS. Cannot remember if you are a Blue or Green heart !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'm glad the pain has eased and the boot helps but you are reminded every time you take a step that all is NOT well!
((((((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))))))
-
Oh yes, the pain has eased. It still hurts to walk, but the boot does help with that. I go to the fracture clinic tomorrow morning and had another Xray done yesterday for that visit. I asked the technician if the break had healed, he just laughed and said that was wishful thinking
He said he could see the fracture, but he would let the specialist fill me in on the rest.
-
Is it getting any better as the days go by ? ((((((((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
-
I'd have a hard time walking up any stairs at the moment anyway!!!
-
Haha rather you than me :)
-
I don't know what floor I am on, but the lifts are good and you barely feel like you are moving.
-
Well enjoy it all and eat the cakes :) I think maybe it is through you that I even know the Fullerton Hotel name then !
-
We have stayed there once before when we went to a show, it was a birthday present for Robert and we had a high tea there with the loveliest cakes. We also stayed in the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore when we were there in 2019. It's a lovely hotel to stay in.
-
WOW yes, very posh :) I have heard of the Fullerton ! I hope they have a posh lift for you also :) What floor are you on ?
-
Oh what a beautiful place, it does look very POSH! I wonder if you will eat any of that CAKE! IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!! The rooms look super nice too!
I hope your foot won't keep you from having a wonderful time away.
-
I go to the fracture clinic next Wednesday morning so we will see what happens from then on and of course we too are away next weekend, from the 4th November to the 7th November. I was looking forward to wandering around Sydney again and even going back to that gorgeous cafe and do some more knitting
Hopefully I can walk that far with this wretched foot. We are staying in a very posh hotel this time, The Fullerton.

I am sure the dogs will love having you home all day and I think you have said that before, how happy they were when you were laid up with your ankle ! (((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))))
You can walk all you need in a couple of weeks :)
-
Losing weight is a lot easier if you can walk, it really makes a difference. Right now you can't walk but one day you can get back at it.
-
The dogs will be fine until I am able to walk them again as there is no one who will walk them. I am stuck at home with them as I can't drive anyway and they love that. I love walking and the more weight I lose the better I feel and the more I can walk, so it's a catch 22 situation at the moment. Not to worry as this too will pass.
-
Then the moral of the story is ...do whatever you feel able to do. Forget about weight loss, forget about horrible daughters, forget about walking the dogs and just do what you feel able to do !!! Stay in bed ALL day if you feel like it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make Robert cook dinner if you DON'T feel like doing it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ((((((((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))))))))))))
OK, OK I know you will not do this BUT it is a Thought !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'm glad the pain isn't as bad. I just wonder how many more broken bones you will have? I hope NONE!! So who walks your dogs now that you can't? (((((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))))))
-
The pain is easing somewhat now, I do have to be very careful how I place my foot though!!! I can't take the dogs for a walk though and it seems that every time I start to feel better and lose weight, something stops me!!!!! No, osteoporosis does not get better, but I am on calcium tablets and I have an injection every 6 months for it to try and prevent any further damage.
The short answer is no, osteoporosis cannot be completely reversed and is not considered curable, but there are a number of health and lifestyle adjustments you can make to improve bone loss. Your provider may also prescribe you medications to help rebuild and slow down bone loss.
I hadn't even noticed Linda
-
I see I called you Drien in my recent post. SORRY (((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))
-
Bugger. I had forgotten about your Sydney trip too ! IT must all be caused by your Osteoporosis surely and has the Dr told you this is so ? (((((((((((((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Can it ever get better ?
-
Oh Darien, I wish this hadn't happened and I'm sure the osteoporosis is the problem. I hate to think of you in such pain and I have to wonder how long that will last. Does the doctor give you any idea of healing time?
Sorry you will have to be in a boot for your time in Sydney, DARN!!!
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Drien)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
-
I have broken both my ankles, the left one when walking Kiska and then just over a year later, I broke the other one walking Maggie and Hugo.
Obviously my osteoporosis is getting worse as remember earlier this year I had an avulsion fracture in my right hip and I hadn't fallen or anything and now I have broken the 4th metatarsal bone in my right foot just walking up a step!!!!!!!! I was only in A&E yesterday for 3 hours and thankfully they didn't plaster my foot, but put me in a boot so at least I can shower without it and I don't need it on to sleep. I can weight bear on it, but I am using a cane to help me get about a bit better. Of course I can't drive anywhere, so Robert has to take me to any appointments like the fracture clinic next Wednesday morning and to have my hair trimmed this afternoon. It is very painful though, so I am taking panadeine forte.
You are right Linda, I am relieved it didn't happen before my UK trip or even while I was over there!!! I will however be wearing a clumsy boot on our stay in Sydney next weekend
-
Goodness I did not even know you could break that part of your foot but have you not done some similar damage to your foot before ????????????? Not so long ago either ? Was it your right foot ???? (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Between you and your husband you seem to have FOOT and ankle problems !!!!!!!!
Rest up and hopefully your kids and husband will take care of you and DO the cooking and cleaning :) Good luck and sending love and prayers :)
-
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I can just imagine you in that horrible pain and it makes me sick, I'm so sorry.
At least you didn't do it BEFORE your trip, I'm trying to look on the bright side Darien, though there really isn't a bright side!!!!
Rest and let everyone wait on you!!!!!
-
I have broken a bone in the bottom of my foot!! I did it last night when I stepped up from the laundry into the kitchen, only one step, and stepped on the ball of my foot, just at the base of the toes, heard a crack and felt excruciating pain. Under my foot is all swollen and I can't walk on it, only by my heel. I am going to have a shower soon and get Robert to drop me off at the hospital. I didn't want to go last night, hoping it would be better this morning, it's not
