Three Friends

It HAD to happen .... I was laying in bed this morning about 8am ish, awake and on my back  but snuggled up and cosy ... John was up and he had gone looking for the Catholic church in Whanganui ..... when the bed rattled BUT the lights hanging from the ceiling on long wires did not move or shake.  SO I did at first think EARTHQUAKE but then I thought maybe Maggie the dog was in and knocking against the bed !   

Nobody else felt anything here and everyone was up !  OK I was imagining it BUT when I read the news today on here there was a quake just north of Wellington !!!!!!!!!! HELP one of my worst fears ! But good job it was not a BIG One !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no!!!!!!!! No doubt you were the only one who felt it because you were laying down in bed, as you say. I am glad it was only a small one and I hope you never have a big one. Such terrifying things they are. I remember when I was about 5 living in Bowral and we had a big earthquake, the whole house shook and Mum told us all to get under the big heavy dining table. We were crying and Mum was trying to be brave, a memory I will always have. Afterwards we all went out the front and the whole street was out too and were all shaken and talking about. The house next-door was an old terrace place and it had a great big crack in the wall!!!!!!!!!!!

Same memories Darien when we were living in Marton and there was a BIG earthquake during dinner and me and the kids got under the big solid pine table in the kitchen ! John had gone to Auckland airport to pick up his parents who were coming to visit ! So it was just me and the kids and our first earthquake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The whole place shook including the hanging light over the dining table ! Not something I will ever forget !

No damage and it was hardly even mentioned on the news as it was a MINOR quake !!!

Thank goodness it was a minor earthquake!!!!!
