Like you Darien, we have our car serviced when we reach the number of miles required to need an oil change.  I forget how many but since we don't drive as much as a lot of people, it's not all that often.  Moira seems to be talking about getting her car "cleaned" after a repair.  Both things are "service" but not the same "service".

We have places where we go that we just call a "car wash".  Some of them you get out of your car and wash it yourself inside a stall, some you remain in  your car and drive through the washing process and another kind you get out of your car and workers jump in your car and as the car goes through the washing and rinsing, the people in the car are quickly giving the inside a cleaning.  I say "people in the car", one in front and one in the back seat.  Pam and Emma always give Larry coupons for a free wash for h is birthday and/or Christmas.  I mean the kind where you get out of the car and all the work is done for you.  He loves those coupons.

We have the same car washes here too, Linda. We also have a car wash at our shopping centre where you leave the car there and they clean it inside and out while you are shopping, I use that a fair bit :)

What a good present to get Larry as he really wouldn't 'need' much for a present, if you know what I mean, as he would have everything he needs already :)

Why does nobody tell me about these fancy car washes ???? I only know about the one where you do it yourself, drive through type of thing. Or maybe some young kid is offering to wash and valet your car for a fund raiser !

Oh yes Moira, I forgot about the fund raiser car washes, we have those too but no Darien, we don't have one at the mall where you leave your car and it's washed while you shop.  Maybe they do in big cities but not here.  Seems like a good idea.    Our small towns like yours Moira don't have the fancy car washes and some have none at all.  Larry used to always wash his own car here in our driveway and I used to do it too, most people did that.   Pam and Emma get him the car wash coupons plus OTHER STUFF, not just the coupons.  He got pajamas, books, a sweater, a calendar, I forget what all, that's from Tom and Mary too.  We all get way  more than what we need, for sure!!

We wash our own car normally... sometimes and I have to say it is very dusty at the moment !!! Needs a wash. Dan tells me there is a garage type car wash in Kumeu… about 15 minutes drive away. I might go look for it one day unless it rains before that :) :0

I just did a quick search of the population of Waterloo Linda, it's 115,000. The population of the Central Coast is 335,000, so we are double the size, I didn't realise that!!!!

With all the dust we have had here, all the cars you see are pretty dirty :(

You are comparing the Central Coast to Waterloo so what does the Central Coast include?  I was talking about your little town of Helensville
when I was thinking you might not have a car wash right there.  Waterloo is certainly not big but not what I would call small.  I can't believe Waterloo has 115,000 people, maybe WITH Cedar Falls it does.
I need to get going.  Mary and I are going to have lunch and then to see Little Women.
