Birthdays.
« on: December 14, 2019, 08:57:54 pm »
Tomorrow it is Cash's 5th birthday and he is having a Digger party in the morning. A few friends from Kindy are coming and playing on the digger that Dan borrowed from his work !!!!

Then in the afternoon it is Jack's birthday party .. he is 7 on Wednesday.  He is having an Imagine Dragons disco party in the shed !!!!! We took his drums down there today and we have made posters and paintings of the group.  As a surprise ( yes a surprise to me too tho. Penny did say it was a possibility ) Bonnie has asked the young man who organised and set up the school music and performance to come and play Imagine Dragon songs .. as he  did as part of the school presentation a month or so ago.  Jack knows all the songs but Jack thinks his friends are coming to play his drums with him in the shed !!!
I will get some photos for you tomorrow :)

It has been a lovely but tiring long day ! Cash loved his digger and so did his little mates..... and later on so did Jack's bigger mates ! Jack spied the DJ man coming and unloading his stuff and could not believe his eyes. He ran away !!  Damon is a lovely young man and very good with kids,  he had all the gear and let them try out his equipment and record their voices and sing !! He also did competitions. Unfortunately and typically, MY camera ran out of battery !!!!!! I have no inside disco photos but Penny might have some later.  He also tested the $1 microphone I got for Jack from the op shop and it works great !!! I need only to find an amplifier now :) I did put up some photos for you.
Dan also cooked a piece of pork on the BBQ and we …. Nana Nita and Nana Jill, Penny and Perry and us all enjoyed roast pork rolls with roast potatoes. No need to cook today :) :)

Sounds like the kids had a great Birthday party. Jack is a funny little thing, isn't he? Where did he run away to? I saw the photos and loved them

Oh my, what fun for all and good food to boot.  I'm sure the digger was popular for all of those big and little boys.  I imagine Jack seeing all of the music surprise felt sort of overwhelmed and probably just didn't know what to do!   (((((((((((((((Jack)))))))))))))))  It seems like Damon did a great job with it all!!    It's almost  YOUR birthday Moira, what do YOU GET???

I thought so about Jack.  My Tom would have probably reacted the same way at Jack's age...............I geddit.
You do deserve all kinds of special attention on your birthday Moira!!!  I guess it is  your birthday TODAY in your world, not mine though.  Still I will say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU and may you have the best day and year ever!     I sent you a card at least 2 weeks ago.  Maybe you will get it someday???

Hahahaha I have just sent John to the mail box !!! It has been pouring down all day and I know Bonnie has not stopped at the mail box and I watched Dan come down the drive back from work this evening and he did not stop to check either ! It is not raining at the moment, in fact I see a wee bit of blue sky in among the gray clouds.   I was thinking of spending the day in bed because of the pouring rain but I did get up at 9am and did not get a nana nap.  I did not go anywhere or do anything special.  Thanks for your good wishes  xxxxxx

A nice quiet birthday is fine, I would like that.  Did you just turn 70?  I'm 80 so I suppose you did.   Susie will be 77 on Monday and Mary was 77 in November.  You are ALL younger than me and Darien is just a KID!

OIC.............71, that is VERY YOUNG.  I was trying to tell Susie and Mary yesterday that they are young at 77 but they didn't seem to believe me.  I talked to Susie on the phone and saw Mary in person in case you wondered.

77 is still young I say :)
Penny and Nana brought me an orchid plant today for a birthday pressie. It is yellow with red blood vein like lines on the petals ! I will do a photo. I never buy orchid plants as they are quite temperamental. I remember in Marton once all the kids were at school,  I joined with 2 friends and we did gardening jobs ..... one job was in an Orchid House and we had to be very careful how we handled all the hundreds of orchid plants.  They had some beauties.
