I had forgotten about your gallbladder "incident" and it is good that Annie go things sped up for you!  I remember what those gallbladder attacks felt like, I'd jump out of bed and walk until they subsided.

I was awake at 2am ish this morning for the loo and I was thinking about this...  I think I got my gall bladder out in Dunedin .. possibly before I even knew you or knew you well ....as I remember John taking me to ER in the early hours of one morning .. in pain !!!!!!!!!   I had MY APPENDIX out in Perth and that was when Annie took me and made them sit up and do something !~!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm no help here either, I don't remember about your surgeries, only that you had them.  When did the big black male nurse come into the picture?

Isn't that odd, I remember all my surgeries and what they were for, I even remember some of my trips and stays in hospital when I was a wee one.....can't remember what I did yesterday though!!!

Hahaha THAT black nurse was when I had my bladder tightened ???? Or whatever they call it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't need to run to the loo !!!!!!!!!!!I had forgotten about that op !!!!!
THEY do say when you are getting older that you can remember the olden days but not recent times !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can remember my surgeries too, but I only had the two so that's not too hard.  I don't remember the exact date, but the year.  Darien, were you in the hospital because of asthma when you were little or something else?  Oh yes, the short term memory flies out the window as you age, that is for sure!

Yes the trips to the hospital when I was very young was for Asthma, they used to put me in an oxygen tent and I have had to be intubated too. I wonder how my poor parents coped with it all really, but they did.

No, I was the only one and then it skipped a generation. Alex had asthma as a child, fortunately he out grew his. Emma has hers under control, but she will often forget to take her preventative these days Asthma can be so much easier to control these days, thank goodness.

Just you, but did one of your parents have it also?  I should know, but I don't remember.  Luckily there are better medications today.  I hope Emma's asthma won't be bothered by all she will be doing in the military.

Back in those days I suppose Asthma did not have the medications they have nowadays but it must have been hard not being able to breathe as a child (((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))))))))) Thankfully it has never been a thing in our families.

Remember Emma isn't going into the Army now, they refused her due to her Celiac Disease. She started at Uni this week doing a nursing course, Liam started this week also doing a Teaching course.

I think my Dad's Uncle had asthma, I vaguely remember that being mentioned many years ago.

Oh good grief YES, now I remember about Emma.  I'm getting so bad forgetting things!  So Liam and Emma both started school.  Is Emma at home or does she stay at the  university?  I'm sure they will both do great!!!

Emma is at home and will do most of the work remotely and only got into Uni a few times a week or whatever, same as Liam. When I say remotely, I mean by tutorials are done by Zoom or something similar. Totally different to how it used to be. As they progress though, they will have hands on teaching and have what is called practical work, which is when Emma will work in a hospital and Liam at a school.
