Cold !!!!

Last night it was wild winds and pouring rain most of the night and even a tornado in the South Island ... way down South and small earthquakes across on the East coast here !   What is happening to the weather nowadays ? 
Today is has been cold and is even more cold now at almost 9PM .. my electric blanket is on and I am sitting here with a fluffy blanket around me again ! IT is only Autumn ! I Am off to bed !~

It was not too bad here last night and I now read the wild weather is coming up here from the South .. later tonight but so far ..... a bit of rain and some wind !  But it is cold once the sun goes down. There were some awesome cloud formations tonight... I did get a couple of photos but have not put them up yet.  Lovely Pink sky :)

I found this;

The concept of "Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning" first appears in the Bible in the book of Matthew. It is an old weather saying often used at sunrise and sunset to signify the changing sky and was originally known to help the shepherds prepare for the next day's weather.

There were lots of shepherds in the Bible, so that makes sense.   I never heard that until meeting you girls, I always heard it as sailor.

YES,  I have read that before about it being Shepherd's Delight because of their sheep :) I suppose in the case of A Sailor's delight it was because they could catch fish to eat !

I would have thought in a 'sailor' saying it was more whether it was safe to take a ship/boat out into the sea.

Right, "red sky at night, sailors delight......red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.  They were watching the weather I think for their safety.
