Fires

We have our house all shut up today.   It's summer but it's not that hot so normally we would have the windows on and not run the AC.
We are under a smoke warning today and tomorrow, due to the Canadian wild fires.  They say it will be worse tomorrow and then subside.

Goodness I have read about the Canadian wild fires but how come the smoke is affecting you ??????????  I will have to look at a map. !!!

I looked it up and the fires are in Alberta so it is miles away .. must be some strong winds and I thought America was BIG :)

Ah well must be bed time now as I did not have a nana nap today as I Did not get up till 11AM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Night,  night :)

Bush fire smoke can travel a long way Moira, it is so thick and the smell is so strong too. Stay inside where it is safe, especially ((((((((((Larry))))))))))

We aren't all that far from Canada, not really CLOSE but close enough for it to be a problem for our area.   I was talking to Susie this afternoon and when I was done and went out to the other room where I expected to see Larry, I didn't see him.  SO I went downstairs and outside and there he was puttering around in the yard, watering a little, etc..  Normally that would be good but not today when we were told it was the worst day for the smoke.  I told him that and he just  waved me away.    He did come in soon after that though.

Typical male once again !!!!   Like John chopping and carrying all these logs and he has a hiatal hernia !!!!!!!!!  Bloody men. 

I do realise smoke especially from bush fires can travel far as I have seen in Perth once or twice but I thought Iowa was too far away from Canada really to notice it :(   Stay safe Linda and tie up your husband !!!

Tie up my husband............  that's a great idea Moira but don't think I'll get the job done.  He's stayed in today and I think he will, can't think of anywhere he needs to go.  Tomorrow he has to go to the hospital lab for blood work.  He's been on a new medication Dofetilide and they need to see if it's causing any problem with his  kidneys. After that we go to see his GP, just the routine monthly visit.

Men seem to think they are invincible!!!!! I am happy that Larry seems none the worse for wear after being outside though.

I had never heard of that medication, so I did a quick search and I see it's for regulating his heart beat ((((((((((Larry))))))))))

Yes, the medication is supposed to regulate his heart beat.  It's a little bit scary to me because he couldn't just start taking it, he had to have it for 3 days in the hospital.

I take Propranolol to regulate my heartbeat and have been on it for many years now .. not a big dose. Don't you take it too Linda ?  It worked to help my migraine back in the day  but I keep taking it to regulate my heart beat nowadays ! I stopped it ( slowly ) once back in Perth and ended up in A & E with RAPID  heart beat !

It will be a good thing that Larry DOES have to stay in hospital to check how the new drug works for him ! Best idea ever,  especially if his heart rate is involved ! (((((((((((((((((((Larry))))))))))))))))

Larry already DID stay in the hospital when he started the medication.  He was there anyway because of the low blood pressure and while he was there they started the new medication.  Yes I take Propanolol too, 80mgs in the morning and 20mgs in the evening to prevent migraine.  I've just stayed on it because I'm afraid to stop it for fear the headaches will return.  I forgot about your rapid heartbeat problems ((((((((((Moira)))))))))).

OIC Larry has already done his 3 days stay so he can take the meds OK ! Well hopefully they are working well for him ((((((((((((((((((((((((Larry)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Have your bush fire smoke got any better ? I have not read anything lately on the news :)
