Christmas is for kids and right now on Monday night at 9pm in the dark  I can hear the kids down the paddock screaming and laughing and they are playing ghosts with Sylvie (5 years old  a visiting friend ) ) plus George and Matt !

Kylie did the right thing by staying home in her case and I see NSW had lots of negative results BUT they were all wrong.. not negative at all but positive  !!!!!! That is not acceptable !

I read now about Larry and you must have been worried with his temp. cough and being short of breath and they are covid signs from what I read ....so I do hope the tests are all PROPER and no mistakes in the results like in NSW !   Roast Lamb for Christmas dinner is lovely and my kind of Christmas fare :) NO cooking is the best gift as far as I am concerned !

John was talking to his sister Mary in UK, she does have liver cancer but she is doing OK so far.... but her son, and 2 daughters have all had covid and recovered ! They have all been double jabbed too !

I did wonder why Tom and Mary only had a quick visit this year as they usually stay a bit longer. How odd that Larry is so up and down, I can't imagine what would cause that at all!!!! I wonder myself if those rapid home tests are as accurate as the nasal and mouth swabs. Hopefully you will receive the results soon. I guess over the Xmas break the results would take longer as not as many pathologists will be on duty. I know over here they are taking up to 72 hours and sometimes a little longer, to get results.

Kylie received her test and it's positive, so she was right to stay at home. I am quite worried about her as her immune system is weak, hopefully her vaccinations will protect her as it has done for many other people. I will no doubt drive her mad by ringing her all the time. Garry and Emma will have to be tested again, their last test was negative and now they too will have to isolate and Emma was supposed to start her new job in the pharmacy tomorrow

I read Kylie's post on FB saying she was positive and the first thing I thought of was her immune system too (((((((((((((((((((Kylie))))))))))))))))))))) I hope she can manage to fight it off and Garry and Emma do not get it too.   Was Emma starting the pharmacy job for the holidays ? ((((((Emma))))))))))

John's sister Mary said her (grown up)  kids all recovered well and did not suffer much and their kids (Mary's grand kids 4,5,7,9 ) did not get it !

So far Kylie is non-symptomatic and hopefully it will stay that way, Garry has confined her to her bedroom!!!!! Garry and Emma waited in line for 4 hours yesterday to get a test done, that seems to be about the average here at the moment and no doubt it will take about 72 hours to get the results, it's mad over here!!!!
Emma has finished her schooling now and she applied for a Pharmaceutical position that will also lead to training in dispensing medications. It's her first full time job and she is so excited about it Of course she can't start today now. When she rang them to tell them they were very good about it and told her the job will still be there waiting for her safe return.

So Kylie has COVID TOO?  So you and I each have a child/offspring with COVID.  I texted with Mary and she says Tom has a bad headache.  She doesn't have COVID I guess, I misunderstood, I thought she did.  Her test was negative but she
could get it from Tom.  She says she's staying upstairs and he's staying down stairs but they were together before they knew he had it.
I hope Emma likes her new job.  Tom did that a couple of summers when he was in college.
Sure hope Kylie won't be too sick and that none of you get it!!!

Bugger it is all getting so complicated ! Poor Kylie confined to the bedroom (((((((((((Kylie))))))))))))))) Probably for the best !
Good that Mary had a neg. test but there is still time for her to catch it from Tom or where ever.   There is a bloke on the news here, he flew in from London and he is some well known DJ.. drummer etc come to play in Wanaka  / Queenstown for the New Year festival and after 2 neg. results while in quarantine he had another one and it was Positive for Omicrom ....but they had let him out on to the streets of Auckland !  First case for ages !

That sounds like a great job for Emma and how nice that they will keep it open for her till she is clear ((((((((((Emma))))))

The same here too, Garry was negative, but that was before so it will be interesting to see if his next test says the same. He isn't even sleeping with Kylie either now....a bit late I think!!!! To be honest, I am not so worried about this latest strain, whereas it's so much easier to catch, it is much less virulent than the other strains. Cath Campbell put up a very good response on Kylie's post and she is an RN working with COVID patients. We have known her for years and Kylie used to babysit her son.

Emma is looking forward to starting her job and she is lucky they are holding it for her, apparently they have a few staff off at the moment due to COVID.

Good grief, it's time for COVID to be GONE!  We would never have believed all of this would happen a couple of years ago, so unexpected and so tragic for so many.

Hahaha poor (((((Garry)))))) still if it is hot weather it will be nice to be in your own cool bed ! ~ I think so anyway ! I did note Cath Campbell's response and I DO know she is an RN as I have seen other posts from her :)

I understand the latest strain 'omicron'  is like having a bit of a cold !  Publicity all makes money for the press etc etc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Emma's latest test came back negative, but Garry's hasn't come back yet. Apparently Emma has had a stuffy nose this past few days, so I think she is going for another test.
Kylie is playing the martyr at the moment, suddenly running a fever etc, she does so love to be one and keeping me out of the loop of things etc. Doesn't work on me anymore though, I am over the girls being so immature at times. I have my life to run

Oh dear, now Kylie is trying your patience too?    When you say she tries to keep YOU out of the loop, how is that and why would she do that?  Didn't she tell you she had COVID?  I should know this but were any or all of your family vaccinated?  I think they were come to think of it.

I wondered when Kylie would try to play the martyr and make all her usual ' Poor Me'  responses. !!!! Normal for Kylie right ?   (((((((((((((((((((((Darien)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Good job that Emma has had a neg. result and I too have had a stuffy nose... but I see all the Privet flowering around here once again ... same last year too !!!

I thought it was Belinda who was the one who played up her health situation and not Kylie, that's why I was surprised when Darien said KYLIE.
Your stuffy nose could be your allergies, a cold or who knows what OR COVID but probably not!  (((((((((((((Moira)))))))))))

Both my girls will often drive me insane, they are both always trying to out do each other in their own ways, they always have done and I know Mum would give them a lecture on it. Usually Kylie will call me and tell me everything that is going on, but if I do the slightest thing that she takes exception to, she will not call or visit me, Robert says she is manipulative and I agree. Belinda will always have some disease or whatever, but she doesn't play the martyr like Kylie does. Yes we are all double vaccinated. You are so right Moira!!!!

Privet hedges are the very worst for allergies, hopefully this will be the last time you will have to worry about it

Oh dear, that's hard for you (((((((((((((((Darien))))))))))))).  Your girls love you and you love them but it isn't always easy!
Will you all get boosters too Darien?
