I raised 3 kids in a house with steps plus Emma here a lot and it works, you just get used to it and it might even be a good thing for people, lots of exercise.

I do understand as the thought of going up and down stairs now is beyond me!!!!! Who has the loft bedroom when Ellie is there? You are no doubt right Linda, using stairs all your like will either make or break you and I think I would be in the latter group

Right Darien, my house would not have been the place for you and in time it might not be the place for Larry and I but since 1967 it has been HOME.

Nobody uses the Loft bedroom here ! It does not look Used BUT maybe any guests ? I Know Ellie's Mum and her partner came to stay a couple of years ago before covid and maybe they had to climb up the ladder stairs to sleep .... and they are in their 60s at least..... I think !!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO. Not my idea of fun and No stairs in my homes since 1986 !

As I have said before, the only two story place I have ever lived in was the haunted terrace house in Summer Hill. Thank goodness I don't have stairs here as with all my fractures and this present one, I'd have had to live downstairs!!!!!!!!

I can manage the stairs here up to our bedroom .... about 15 of them..... I just went to count ... 14 stairs and all thickly carpeted so it feels soft underfoot.
BUT NO, I do not run up and down often ! Good job there is a downstairs Loo !

Oh yes, you would need a toilet downstairs as well as up. So you need only go upstairs to bed and to make the bed, not too bad I suppose.

I make the bed when I get up .. I just Open the window, straighten the bottom sheet and fluff the duvet back over the bed ! ~ And then shut the door so the flippin cats cannot get into the bedroom and onto the bed ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes, cats love to sleep on the bed. Kylie keeps her bedroom door closed well for that same reason and just in case they don't pee on the bed as well

Thankfully he was on John's side!!!!! I don't think all cats pee on beds, but Kylie's cats certainly do. Actually her cats pee on just about everything, I couldn't stand that! One of her cats Tilly, is very old, we don't know exactly how old, but perhaps about 15, she now suffers from incontinence and will dribble urine on occasion, poor old thing

I have to say give me dogs any day but then again I suppose I am more used to dogs nowadays.
The 2 fat cats here are no bother really but then John feeds them and makes sure they are in at night !

I Like cats and would once have loved to have one, I have had cats growing up, but after Kylie's cats and working at the pound in the cattery, I'll stick to dogs thanks very much!!!!

I enjoyed your dog/cat discussion. Cupcake never pees anywhere but her litter box nor does Smokey, Joe and Susie's cat. I love Smokey, he is such a nice cat, he's very big and so nice and friendly. Joe was saying that male cats are more friendly than females and it seems to be true because I know Cupcake is only loving with Pam and Emma. She tolerates me, but would never sit on my lap like Smokey does.
Poor Susie misses Smokey so much.

The 2 fat cats here follow John because he feeds them but they also share the sofa with Matt. He chases them away ! They do not bother me !
Matt rang Dan a short while ago and Dan was telling him he had GIVEN George away to a nice family with 3 girls ( George is actually Matt's dog.. he paid $1500.00 for him !!!!!!) Apparently George kept running away and bothering the sheep and cows on the next door farm in Waverley !!! Matt is not very happy and me neither as he was going to be our Guard dog !!!! He was not bright but he is still a young dog !
