Have not needed it so far to watch the rugby but have come close !  Jack informs me today that it is going to be 2C tonight / 35F !  That is cold in my mind !

That's a chilly morning, but by the time you get up Moira it will be warmer
We have had a couple of 2C mornings here and also in Dubbo it was 0C!!!!!!!

It was cold last night too I could feel it and put on the extra fluffy blanket but I do not like the added weight and kept getting cramp in my ankle !  Today it was much better and even a bit warmer.... I got outside and did my plants and brought my lavender plants down from Dan's and have them in their pots standing by the gaps in the deck. IF I put them in the gaps / holes I would never be able to get them out again !!!!!!!!!!! According to the weather reports we are due for more rain ! Not had any rain for 2 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW :)

WOW is RIGHT, no rain for  you in 2 days must be a record.  Our grass isn't as brown as it was so our rain the other day helped but we still need more and the farmers definitely do!!

I don't like heavy blankets, I feel so weighed down and uncomfortable, which is why I love my feather quilt in the winter, no matter how cold the nigh is, I am always nice and warm. You will have to take some photos of the lavender plants and what gardening you did. At least you had two days of no rain, everything must feel so damp to the touch over there with all that rain!!!!!!

I have been using our down/feather quilt all year round since we moved back to NZ ! ( YOU told me to buy one Darien !)  We had a Summer quilt in Perth but it is in the cupboard !  I have been thinking of putting it on the bed instead of the blanket.. but I think it might be TOO much ! 

It has been quite warm today well not cold for Winter.... .... and no rain during the day just early morning it belted down for a couple of hours kept me awake with the thunder and the occasional lightening !!

I would have thought the feather quilt would have been warm enough, it certainly is for me and I don't wear PJs to bed!!!!!!

Gosh yes Linda, it is colder here than Sydney :)  and we are also on the West Coast... the cold and windy side :(
I did have the blanket on top of the duvet last night but I had to pull it off in the middle of the night !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got too warm !  I won't bother tonight   Ah I remember you sleep in the nuddy
 Darien :)  I do wear pjs for bed but just shorts and a tee shirt. I have not resorted to my long warm pj pants or bed socks  YET !

I never wear warm pjs at night, not even in the coldest of the winter, too hot for me.

I would say your temps are similar to ours in the winter, Moira. Our average morning temperature is about 3C and daily ia about 17C and if there is a wind, like we have been having lately, it feels much colder.

So Moira, maybe you aren't colder than Darien.  I have no idea about either one of you, only thing I know is that I live where it gets colder than either of  your homes.

Its 11C right now and I have just written the last post saying NO rain. Spoke too soon as John went out for a ciggy and said it is raining.  Not hard as I cannot hear it !!
It has been 16C here today so yes similar to you Darien. I am surprised as I always think of Sydney area being warm,  even in Winter !

WE have single storey homes Linda so it is easier to keep them warm.... I think so anyway !  You have lots of blankets and an eiderdown on your bed don't you Linda, not a duvet ? Did you ever try a duvet ? I know we have asked before !

 I have been putting on my electric blanket about 9pm so when I do go to bed around 10pm it is lovely and warm :) Then I DO switch it off !
