I can imagine poor Alex IS worried and sad on behalf of the girls too :(   Belinda too I would think !   So the police are still going to prosecute Sammi .. well it may teach her a lesson.... I hope it does !  How lovely of you to get Zurie's new uniform, you are a good Great Grannie :)

MAtt's problem is that he cannot manage his money . YES he may have a Law, History and  Publication degree but when it comes to normal everyday living .. he is hopeless. IT IS expensive tolive in Auckland, rent and every day living expenses and I HOPE he does not go out drinking and dining every night !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   NO he did not do that when he lived with us BUT He did not have to pay rent either !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is paying back money for the overdue rates he owes the Council on his Perth house !    Annie refuses to pay them !   This is not the first time either that Annie has sent food to Matt, I remember she did it once before when he was still in Perth ! She is a good sister :)

One can only hope that sometime Matt will see how he should be living and do it, but I guess he is getting close to 40 or maybe he is so I don't know if he will ever change.  It's so lucky he has a good sister.  I see he doesn't ask you and John for money or help, or does he?
Dan is totally different when it comes to money, etc..  That's good.

Matt really should, at his age, try and learn to manage his money a bit better. I wonder if having his wages paid into an account that only you or John could access and then you pay his rent and give him so much to live on each week and the rest is saved, would be a good idea? I don't suppose he would agree though. It's just a thought.

I can't take Zurie to get her uniform this weekend as it's only sold at the school, so I will have to take her to her school to buy them. Such a hassle really. I'll try and organise something for next week or there week after.

I'll bet Zurie is excited to get her uniform.  So I guess she only has one uniform?
I doubt Matt would think having his money managed by John and Moira would be good, but it would be a solution.  He'd still ask Annie though I suppose.  I wonder if he gets paid weekly or monthly?  At the beginning of the week or month he could take his money and at least buy his groceries for the week or month.  It's a problem, that's for sure.

NO way would Matt allow us to manage his pay. He does have rent to pay in Auckland and that does take a third of his pay ..................PLus stuff owed in his house in Perth,,, rates etc. Annie says he HAS to pay them because SHE will not pay them ! Then what ever else  ????????????????? He does now and again ring up for a small loan till pay day ..... his pay day is the alternate week to ours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He does USUALLY Pay it back !

Matt has never been any good with money and never been any good managing his lifestyle !

No I didn't think he would, but perhaps John could put it to him anyway, it never hurts to try. Belinda is hopeless with money too, as you know!!

When   you say Matt has to pay "rates", what is that?  Is it a property tax type thing?

Rates are the Council payments for his house in Perth Linda ... where Annie and Richie live and are doing it up ! IT covers costs for rubbish bins, septic and water and any other Council stuff. Cannot remember !!!!!!!!

Yes maybe Matt is another Belinda !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I geddit now.  We pay those fees along with our water bill, to the city of Waterloo.  We just don't use the word "council".

I know you say Belinda isn't good with money so I'm wondering if she asks you and Robert for help?  Or do they just manage one way or another on their own?

I can not begin to tell you how many times we have had to help Belinda and Keith out, even though they both work!!!! I get tired of it actually, but we will no doubt continue to do so for as long as we are able.

Maybe I knew that, but forgot.  We would do the same thing Darien, if your "kid" of any age needs help you do what you can do to help.
She's very lucky you are able to help because not all parents would be.
