Scan
« on: November 21, 2023, 05:28:01 am »
My doctor called this morning at 8:00am.  She said she saw the scan report and it looks good and she is impressed.  Whew........such a relief.  I may have lost my hair and feel all worn out a lot but at least I know progress is being made.

I had to read this post as soon as I saw the title. This is such good news Linda and you must be feeling relieved that the chemo is doing what it is meant to do

I was so glad to hear from my doctor.  I had literally just gotten out of bed when she called.  Right away she said "this is Dr. Scheffner and I have good news".  I suppose she didn't want to just say her name as I might think it was bad news.  I think she thought she would have scan results last Friday but she didn't so I think she felt badly that I had to wait all weekend.  When I went for the scan last week I waited in a big room with lots of chairs.  Larry and I got the last two chairs, it appears to be a very busy place so I suppose that's why I didn't get the results sooner.  So many have been praying for me and I am so thankful for the prayers and the good result.

I am sure she didn't want to scare you, so it was best she told you she had good news. I am guessing that you will still continue your course of chemo treatments and then worry about afterwards after?

I assume I'll continue with the chemo treatments.  I'll see my doctor next week so I'll know more then.  I don't feel like I'm bouncing back very well from the treatment I had last Thursday.  I still have diarrhea and I'm so tired and worn out.

Well, I'm "ok" just not great but it's Wednesday here now and I'm doing better.  I've gotten a lot of the side dishes made for tomorrow, things I can put together today.  That way there isn't so much to do tomorrow.

I'm glad you are feeling slightly better as it must be your Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, there now. I hope you have a blessed day full of love, you need it

You do have to rest Moira, if you don't you will end up back in hospital and I know you don't want that

I feel better today and we went shopping to Whanganui... well John needed his chain saw blades sharpened !   We went to Countdown and I could not believe the prices ... have not been shopping for over a week.......but 1 tin of soup $4.50 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got basics at a cost of nearly $200.00 !!!    I have to say John did include dog biscuits and dog roll !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT our dogs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then we got home and I went to bed and snoozed for 2 hours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you felt well enough to go shopping and no doubt it was the prices that exhausted you!!!!! It's the same here, just a normal shop will cost nearly $200 and if I need cleaning products, the price goes through the roof!!!! What I tend to do now is when something I buy is on special, I will buy two of that item, it saves me money in the long run, especially down the cleaning aisle. I only buy my fruit and vegetables as and when I need them, otherwise they are often wasted and they cost too much to do that.

I'm glad you snoozed for a few hours, that certainly won't harm you ((((((((((((((((((((Moira))))))))))))))))))))

I CANNOT believe your price for a can of soup.  Our prices are higher than they were but NOTHING like that.  A can of soup here would be a dollar something, not sure because I rarely buy it.  I got groceries yesterday, maybe 4 bags that cost me $52.00, but I didn't buy any meat so if I had it would have been a lot more.

FOUR bags of groceries for $52!!!!!!!! I had two bags of groceries yesterday for $145.....that's a lot of difference and there was no meat bought!!! I honestly don't know how young families cope with the cost of things, it really is out of hand and certainly something needs to be done. The only people who are happy with all of this are the supermarket chains
