I lurve my own bed but I did also lurve the King size at Ellie's house. My duvet is King size too !! Methinks I NEED a King size bed.   Matt is hopefully sharing a house with in Ponsonby, Auckland with Gusty and he will need a bed as Jack is now using Matt's Helensville bed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He did not want his normal single bed because there was no room on it for RD to sleep also  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot remember sleeping in a King size bed before but it is so roomy !
Matt is sleeping on a single mattress .. ( probably Jack's old one !!!!!!!!) in the big lounge and he says it is comfy and fine and he sleeps well. Better than he did at Ellie's !
The rental house.... if it happens is not vacant till the middle of June ! I would be quite happy to stay here it the studio until we get a Granny flat built or whatever ..... as long as Dan gets a kitchen set up here ! BUT He says it is not worth it !

It sounds like you are adjusting there to your new home and it will take awhile to get things the way you want them.   So Dan doesn't seem to want to get a kitchen installed for you so I don't suppose you will stay in the studio without a kitchen.  I guess time will tell as is true of most things.  So Matt is just visiting and will head back to his new home with Gusty I presume.

I love my King Size bed and wouldn't want anything smaller. So Matt could take your bed with him when he moves out then. I assume Dan asked you if Jack could have Matts bed? What would you prefer Moira, to do the studio up into your new home, or move out, again, to a rental next month and wait for permission to build a granny flat? Surely it's yours and Johns decision to make?!!

I know you girls know that Larry and I have a REGULAR sized bed, not even a QUEEN and we have had it for 56 years this summer.  Don't both of you yell at me at once..........I KNOW, we could get a bigger bed.

Linda likes to cuddle close to Larry so they love their smallish... double bed
I quite like my own space and I do like to spread out BUT John is warmer blooded than me and I do have to keep a bit close to him in Winter hence the Queen bed suits. I would lurve a King size bed in Summer !

No, Matt will probably not take the bed back now when he moves, he will buy another one courtesy of Dan ! Jack loves the bed and so does Ardie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bed is ours anyway !

As I said in the last post I would be quite happy to stay here UNTIL our Granny flat is approved and built .. at the end of the paddock :)

OIC, I thought you meant you would be willing to stay permanently in the studio if it had a kitchen.  Now I see you do want a granny flat which I'm sure would be bigger than the studio so that makes sense.  I'm just afraid it will be a long time before you see the granny flat.
Yes, a double bed is very handy for cuddling.

The only time we have slept in a double bed is when we are away on holidays and we find it a little too close, but then we are much bigger than you and Larry The very first bed we had was a queen size bed, then we went for the water bed and no matter what size you bought, it was the same price, so we opted for a king size, that was about 45 years ago now!!!!

All I know is that a King-sized bed wouldn't fit in our bedroom and even a Queen would take up more room than we'd like and our regular bed has worked for all these 56 years so I guess we'll just keep it.

You must have quite a small bedroom then Linda :)
We first had a Double bed... the only ones available as far as I recall ! Never knew any difference !  We got a Queen water bed in Dunedin ... then when we moved to Perth we got a Queen size normal bed  :)

No I would not really like to stay permanently in this studio and anyway Bonnie wants to use it for her exercise classes eventually. She also starts some Fit and Joy classes like she did in Helensville... next week I think using the local park. She had a good response to here advert  !!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF we HAD to stay here I would manage... with a a few alterations !!!! We need to wait for permission from the local council then it will finding a granny flat !

None of our bedrooms are very big but big enough for us since 1967.  We have the bed, a big dresser, chest of drawers and a full length mirror that stands alone.  There is a name for those mirrors but I can't think of it.  Anyway, it all fits in our bedroom and we can still walk around.  I suppose the room is probably 9 x 12 or thereabouts.  Tim gave me that mirror the first year he had a job and had his own money.

My bedroom has a built-in wardrobe, the bed, two bed side chests with 2 drawers and a larger chest of drawers. I wished I had room to fit another chest of drawers in though.

I guess a built-in wardrobe is what I'd call a closet and oh yes, we have a closet too.

MY bedroom right now has a Queen bed and two bedside chests of 6 drawers plus a computer table and a sink and lots of packing boxes and a fridge and a bookcase and a load of lazy flies flying around because it is so cold they are dropping all around me... HELP !

Actually your bedroom sound compact Linda and is bigger than the one we had in the granny flat in Helensville ! By 4 x12 I take it your mean Feet, not Metres ? What a lovely idea to buy you a Stand alone mirror too ((((((((((((Tim))))))))))))  Did you ask for one or was it Tim's own idea ?)

Your bedroom Darien is just a perfect size I thought and you do have that big Built in wardrobe. ( Yes, Closet Linda :) !

Tim knew I had been looking at those mirrors so he decided to buy me one that Christmas, I think it was his last Christmas.
Yes I mean 9 x 12 feet regarding the bedroom.  Out things all fit in just fine really.

Oh so you do have a sink already then? That's good, it will make it easy then to build a bench for preparing meals then. Can you take some more photos of your new temporary home?
That mirror must be very precious to you ((((((((((Linda))))))))))
