Too stressful
« on: May 01, 2022, 08:52:30 pm »
Last night John and Matt were watching the rugby it was on late 10 ish ... and at half time they went outside onto the deck here for a fag. NO cover, no lights and it was cold so they did not stay long ! BUT they were loud discussing the rugby game apparently.    The next door neighbour ( very, very close same type house too ) shouted at them to be quiet ! Matt invited her to come join them !!!  I have to say I was in bed on the floor above the deck and heard NOTHING !

Anyway this neighbour sent a message to Sam and Ellie in UK saying their House sitters were noisy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sam sent us a message asking us to keep the noise down !!!!!!!!! Sam must have told Penny who also sent ME a 'nice' message saying the same ... I rang her.... all OK ...... then I got a call from Dan tonight saying the same thing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told him it was a load of rubbish. THEN I got a message from Bonnie saying Dan was stressed about it all.   SO John is MAD and said we will pack up and clean up tomorrow and go down to Taranaki on Tuesday. Bugger the cats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watch this space.
Luckily then Annie messaged us on camera ???? Saved my sanity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!  She and Richie were having a BBQ and Joseph, Clare, Zach and Jessica plus Lindsay, Mary, ? and Maggie were there plus Karen, (Mary & Richie's Mum)   :)  It was lovely to see them all and to chat...well the sound was not too good .....but I wish I was there !

OMG!!!!! What a palaver over nothing and how dare Dan and Bonnie add their 2 cents worth when they have no real idea of what had happened!!!!! I am sorry Moira, but that is not right at all, what on earth did they think you were doing having wild parties or something!!!!! Why would Dan be stressed about it all and why is that your problem?? I agree with John, bugger them all then.

I saw the photos you put up of the BBQ and it looked like everyone was having a good time and it's times like that you must miss

Last night I would have have got on a plane to Perth quite happily !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway we are still here and will leave for Waverley on Friday not Saturday ( or Tuesday ! )
It seems that to get a kitchen put into the ' STUDIO'  ...  ( as Dan calls it...  as it WAS an Art studio used by the previous owners)  It will take a couple of weeks or more and not cheap and in the long run it would be better IF we rent a place locally for say 6 months until we can get permission and build a Granny flat on their land........  especially as Matt is coming with us and the OPEN STUDIO is not suitable for 3 of us !!!!!!!

SO the latest thing is, a bloke who was working with Dan is leaving to go overseas and his house is coming up for rent. 3 bedrooms and it is in Hawera. Dan WILL Pay the rent ! It is about 20 minutes from Dan's house. Watch this space. I suppose it DOES make sense as Matt IS coming with us or else he has NOWHERE else to go !   Last night Matt was so mad, he was going to live in a field and he had NOT been drinking any alcohol  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway IF Annie and Richie come in the next 6 months which is quite likely.. they too can come stay with us in the rental !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All has calmed down now and today Dan had to drive up to Auckland for meetings etc and he is staying in a motel !!!!!!!!!!!!! SO much for the move South to save driving 6 hours North or South !

How long is Dan's mate going overseas for? Where is Hawera, is it near the new house? I don't think I could cope with all the moving, you will have to have all your stuff in storage for a while, none of your familiar things around you, will that bother you? At least you won't have to worry about any cats Bonnie and the kids must be missing you very much. Why was Matt mad? was it still over the neighbours complaint?

It would be lovely if Annie and Richie do come over, my fingers are crossed for you

I am not sure how long the rental is available but I had to send Dan a copy of my Drivers licence and the car Number plate !  ( The car is in MY Name since it came to NZ :) We have not heard anything more today BUT Dan is HERE in Auckland on business for 3 days ! I did ask about our furniture and he said he would have ours delivered to the rental house as I believe it is unfurnished.

Hawera is further along the coast about 20 minutes drive from Waverley.

Hāwera is 75 kilometres south of New Plymouth on State Highway 3 and 30 minutes' drive from Mount Taranaki. It is located on State Highway 45, known as Surf Highway 45 for its numerous surf beaches.  The Marton–New Plymouth Line railway passes through Hāwera and has served the town since 1 August 1881, though it has been freight-only since the cancellation of the last railcar passenger service between Wellington and New Plymouth on 30 July 1977.

I have to say this same railway line used to run beside our old house in Marton !!!!!! How strange is THAT !!!!!!!
Matt was mad because they were not noisy and the fact that the whole world was sending messages complaining .... well Sam, Ellie, Penny, Bonnie and Dan not to mention the neighbour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All quiet today !

I assumed the house would be furnished with Dan's mates stuff, I am a bit confused about the hose then!!!! So you will be closer to Marton again, it must feel like going home in a way

I was wrong sorry, the bloke working for Greenfern was renting the house in Hawera and Dan said it was unfurnished .... I don't know what to believe nowadays because that does not make sense to me either ! What is he doing with his stuff IF he is going overseas ????????????????  Sigh

No, Hawera is not closer to Marton it is the other way so a bit further away. BUT That same freight only train that used to pass our old house still runs along the coast from Wellington to New Plymouth ! All along the coast.

I assume the guy is storing his furniture as it would be cheaper to store than pay rent on an empty house for 6 months. There certainly has been a lot of mixed messages and you are much more patient than I would have been under the circumstances. I wouldn't have wanted to move in the first place!!!!

Oh well, at least you will have a closer association with Marton then.

Well I don't know about John, Matt or anyone else, but I AM FURIOUS over all this.  GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  All those people, LOVED ONES OF YOURS, complaining to you!  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you will be renting a house away from Dan and family so I guess Bonnie will have to deal with the kids on her own because she can't just send them over to Grammy any old time of the day. HONESTLY, this is just making my hair stand on end!!

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((Moira))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))  I pray you will have good and safe travels and a wonderful new life in Waverley.  I guess it's your Friday right now as I type so you must be enroute or maybe even there.   I see that Matt IS going with you and I'm glad for that, he needs to be near family.  So you won't be close to Dan and the kids for quite awhile, that will be very different for all of you.
I'm with Darien, this is just all too much to imagine but you will do fine, you enjoy change and I don't.

Hahahaha NO rockets and all is smooth so far. Matt is using a single mattress in the  BIG lounge room .. in the quiet corner, he is quite comfy after sleeping in Ellie's house on the sofa for 2 weeks !!
We are in the studio and last night it was warm and so lovely back in my own bed..... even if it was  only Queen size ... methinks maybe I would like a KING size bed like the one at Ellie's house!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

You are going to be in the rental house at some point, right?  For now you are in the studio I see.  So is Matt in Dan's house?  When we were just in the hotel in Kansas City we had a king sized bed and they are nice but we wouldn't have the room in our bedroom.

So good to see you back again and in your own bed. You will have to get a king size bed and mattress, I wouldn't be without mine. I know when we go away, we look for apartments that have king size beds.
