Young artist
« on: November 01, 2022, 09:42:23 am »
A young boy is selling art in Dubuque, Iowa.  It was on the news today and he paints flowers etc and all the money goes to children's charities. His name is Arsh Pal, 12, he  has spent the past four years selling his artwork to raise money for charities.

SO why do I Know this town name Dubuque ? Do Susie and Joe live there ?  I am putting it on here now... so I don't forget the names by tonight when I normally come on here !!!!!!!!!!

What a nice story, and I never heard about him!  We went to Dubuque when Emma did Cross Country and Track, it's about an hour and a half from here.   Another side story here, Dubuque is where Larry and I spent our wedding night 56 plus years ago.  We were on the way to Niagra Falls and that was our first stop.  OH MY, so much has changed!

That was a great article  Darien and much more than I read on the news here. A very clever young lad.

I would never have thought twice about the story Linda except the name Dubuque came up and I knew it ! SO it was your Honeymoon night Linda, spent in Dubuque ? I am sure it is a lovely place.  Have you ever been back since apart from Emma's X country races  ?

Here I am reading and posting a little.  I get so tired of laying on the sofa and I do feel somewhat better today so here I am.
We've never stayed in Dubuque other than the night of August 21 1966.  We probably have driven through there on the way to somewhere else, but I don't remember.  I do remember the track and cross country trips and they have been fairly recent.

So nice to see you are posting Linda.  So why did you spend your honey moon night in Dubuque ?

I would never have even thought about reading the story of this young boy if I did not remember the name Dubuque  !!! Thanks to you Linda :) How do you pronounce it ?

We were married at 3:00 in the afternoon and after the wedding was the reception and after that we took off on our trip.  It was already well into the evening when we left town so we drove far enough to get to a decent sized town where we could spend the night and that was Dubuque.  Here's how to pronounce it.   The next day we started our drive to Niagra Falls.
