I called him Snuffles because when Dad found him, while he was playing golf, he had the snuffles ( which was probably cat flu) and he said to me if I could look after him and get him through, I could keep him. I was about 11/12 and he was still going strong when I left home at 17. I am sure it was to stop me bringing home stray and lost dogs

Oh how cute, a nice cat story for me Darien.  
I know that Pam nor Emma would let Cupcake suffer for even a minute if they could help it so when that happens, I'm sure they will have Cupcake put out of her misery.
After church we were standing around talking with people and Pam was telling my friend Sue about Cupcake and she started to cry.  Pam is so emotional, like Larry.  Sue is a cat lover and she's taken care of Cupcake different times when we are all way, so she knows her.

I'm pretty certain that when Cupcake passes on that Pam and Emma will be at the pet store or humane society very quickly.  I know they will want another kitty.  Not that it would replace Cupcake but it would dull the pain.

Pam took Cupcake to the vet this morning so she could learn to do the fluids.  Larry and I came over to drive Cupcake home so Pam could go right to work.  She was in her carrier as usual and normally she meowed all the way home because she wanted OUT.  Today there was not a sound from her and when we got home with her, I unzipped the carrier and she didn't dart right out.  When she came out she didn't act herself at all.  She's getting so thin but she doesn't seem to be in pain.  When Pam handed her to me she had tears in her eyes and I asked her if she was okay.  She said, "what I'm doing now is Hospice" and I'm sure she is right. 
We plan to go to Joe and Susie's Thursday and stay until Sunday but I don't know if we should leave town now with Cupcake so sick and Pam so sad.  I'll talk to her about it and see what she says.

Yes Pam is giving Cupcake palliative care at the moment. Cupcake's kidneys are failing her and while I don't think she is in pain, she must be feeling very sick and lethargic. If it were me, I would be having a very serious talk with the vet and asking them what their advise would be about it being time to say goodbye. It seems that Cupcake is not enjoying her life anymore and having more bad days than good and that is how I know when it's time for me to say goodbye.
As for you going away, that is up to you (((((Linda)))))

I guess we will just see how it goes, I do know Pam wouldn't want Cupcake to suffer.  She isn't going to get better, that I know so what they are doing now is making her comfortable as they do at Hospice.

I saw the photo of Emma cuddling Cupcake and ALL the cat hairs on her jumper... you could have filled a cushion !!!!!!!!!!!  DO cats normally loose so much hair ? 
OR was it just some photo from the computer and NOT Emma and Cupcake at all ?  ??????

OH NO, that wasn't Emma and Cupcake, it was just a picture she put on FB.  I've never seen Emma or Pam look quite that bad, actually I don't see cat hair on them but I know it's there.
