« on: April 18, 2022, 09:17:09 am »
I am here alone!!! Now what will I do with myself? I could sit here and talk about you while you are gone, but what would I say? Come back, I didn't mean it

I hope you are enjoying Tom and Mary's company, Linda

How are things going at Ellie's place, Moira?

I'm here Darien, I'm here NOW!    I will be gone all next week though but I think by then Moira will be in touch through Ellie's computer, don't you think?  I mean I will be gone from April 25th until May 1st or 2nd.  I'll be at Susie's a few days then onto Topeka.

We don't have a laptop but I might be able to use Tom's computer.  Tom and Mary have been wanting us to come to see them so we finally are.  He's also going to be busy and won't be able to be home a lot in the next while.  In May he and Mary are going to Croatia and Italy for vacation.  She's never been back since she left when she was 12.  In June Tom is going to Belgium, France and Germany with a group of Marketing students.  They have been working on a business plan for a business in Belgium so they will be presenting that plan to this company and other than that it will be just sightseeing.  Another professor will be along and each of them will drive a vehicle to transport the students.  In July he and another professor are going to London to present more research papers.  He says he won't be home a lot in the next few months so he wanted us to come there for a few days.  We will go to Kansas City and stay a night or two with them.  There are a couple museums he thought we'd all enjoy, plus other stuff but I forget what.  Then one day he will take us to the little town of Horton, Kansas where my Dad was born and raised.  It's only about an hour from Topeka and Tom and Mary have gone there and found my grandparent's graves.  Since Joe and Susie are on the way to Topeka we will stop there first for a couple days before going onto Topeka so NO, not brushing you off, just a mini vacation of sorts.
I'll be here the rest of this week.

My Dad used to talk about Horton so much so I will be very excited to be there.  I wish I knew where the Cahill family lived but I don't.  My cousin Nancy, who lives in Omaha, might know.  We write to each other and I asked her if she knew the address.  When she was a little girl she visited in Horton so I thought she  might know.  She has the start of Alzheimer's so I don't know if she will ever remember to answer me about the address.
Tom will have a busy May, June and July and then he will go back to school in August so his summer will fly by.

I had found that cemetery information Moira, a long time ago I did look that up.  The only Cahill listed there who is  a relative was my grandfather, Morris Weller Cahill.  My Dad's name was Clyde Weller Cahill but of course he is buried in Oelwein.   I see those other Cahill names but they aren't his brothers or sisters.
No, we never have been to Tom and Mary's new house.  They usually come here because he likes to visit friends in Iowa City and here and we like to have them come also.
This reminds me, I need to text Mary and see how she is doing with her new medication.

Morris Weller Cahill is not a very Irish sounding name :) Weller must be a Family name ???
It all sounds like a great holiday for you :)

I hope Mary is OK !

I don't know about Weller, I'll try to ask my one cousin who might know but she might not either.  Cahill does sound Irish, at least to me, though it was O'Cahill to begin with.

It will be nice for you to see Tom and Mary's place, you can then picture them in their home when you talk to them on the phone :)

It will be nice.  We do usually Zoom with them and they have walked around the entire house to show us but there is nothing quite like being there.
