Three Friends

We watched Larry's cousin Bonnie suffer with it and eventually die.  She's been gone now for quite awhile and she was younger than Susie.  Bonnie was the sister of Jane and Susan, the cousins we have our monthly lunch with. 

I don't think we did know, good job it was not passed on to your kids Linda !

I just found this little paragraph about MS. So far neither Matt nor Annie has any signs of it nor do any of Bonnie's children but they COULD.

While multiple sclerosis (MS) is not believed to be a hereditary disease, having a family history of MS (particularly in a parent or sibling) does make a person more likely to develop it. In a family in which one parent has MS, the risk that their children will develop the condition is estimated to be between 2 and 5 percent. Studies have shown that there is a higher prevalence of certain genes in areas where MS seems to cluster, as well as in some families where there is more than one person with MS. It is speculated that MS develops because a person is born with a genetic tendency to react when exposed to some environmental agent that triggers an autoimmune response.

As MS is an auto-immune disease, it usually reappears in families down the line somewhere. We have quite a AID's in my family and it was Maree who ended up with the MS

Well Moira, I thought the same thing.............Darien's family has a history of AIDS?  I'm glad you asked. 
I had lunch just now with Mary so we could talk.  She was telling me how she is SO TIRED all the time and I imagine heart failure would cause that and we know it does, but she seemed so down in the dumps today.  They said they would need to see her again in six months at Mayo so they must think she's at least "okay".  She has lost weight and seems so fragile.  Pam mentioned that after seeing her last weekend and I really noticed it today.
